Hello everyone, Becky Fleck Moore here from PHOTOPLAY PAPER. As many of you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Have you had your mammogram yet in 2019? If not, we encourage you to schedule one today. Also, please remind 10 women you love to do the same thing. Early detection saves lives!
I was honoured to collaborate with Photoplay Paper on a Breast Cancer Awareness collection called “OPERATION: Save 2nd Base.” When I first brought the idea to Jody Hunt (our creative director), he immediately loved the idea, and voluntarily offered to donate proceeds to the American Cancer Society’s Programs and Research. When we released the collection last month, we asked all of our participating stores to do the same, and many of them have!
This collection includes a Paper Pack (two each of five double-sided patterns, plus a bonus pattern), cardstock die cuts, stamps and coordinating dies. Here are a few projects I created using all of these products:
We are so appreciative of Scrapbook & Cards Today for allowing us to share this collection with all of their readers. We are giving away the complete collection to one lucky winner! For your chance to win, simply leave a comment on this post by Friday, October 25th. Together, we can spread the word about the importance of annual mammograms.
Thank you SCT and to all of your readers!

What a great idea!!! The collection is beautiful and the Cause is amazing!!! If I won I would hope that I never had to use it but it would be wonderful just in case! Yay to the stores that donated proceeds as well. It can’t always be about the bottom line!
What an awesome way to spread the word about this topic. Just the other day I have received a letter in the mail stating that I soon have to get screened for breast cancer. This is unfortunately part of life and it is better to find out sooner than later. Thank you for the chance to win.
I love this idea as so many people are impacted by breast cancer. The materials are wonderful. I have a personal attachment to this subject and applaud you for taking the time and effort to show us something lovely and touching.
Thank you Photoplay Paper and Becky for this great collection and for donating the proceeds to research! I know someone right now that is under Hospice Care for this devastating disease. Let’s all fight for a cure!
I had my last mamographi on September 2019. Every 2 years it became a routine since I was 45 years old
now I am 70. Nobody in my family have or had breast cancer . As we say in french:
MIEUX VAUT PRÉVENIR QUE GUÉRIR.
This is a very nice gesture for all of us to have desing it.
Merci
Yolande

I never thought to scrapbook such a time in my life and I have some wonderful photos of family with myself that I do cherish during those times . Thank you for such a stunning collection Photoplay!
My Mother-N-Law is a breast cancer survivor. I would love this kit to create a page layout about her. How she’s a survivor as well as a great Mother-N-Law, and how glad I am that she is a survivor.
Such an amazing way to spread awareness. Thank you Becky Fleck and SCT for doing this. ❤️❤️
This is a wonderful collection. Sadly, I know many people that have battled one type of cancer or another,
Wonderful collection. I have know survivors of breast cancer and others who didn’t make it.
I would love to win this as my mom is a survivor! This would be perfect to scrap her journey. Thank you for the chance!
This is a beautiful collection. My best friends sister is a survivor. I would be nice to win. Thank you for the opportunity.
This is a beautiful collection. I have a family member dealing with this, she just was given a very bad prognosis, it’s hard to stay positive with this sort of news. We are all trying to stay positive and uplifting for her. I’m glad that there are companies who are making products to support this cause, thank you.
What a perfect collection for an amazing cause. We all need to be reminded to take care of ourselves. Thank you for a chance to win.
What a beautiful collection! Unfortunately so many have need for cancer related products.
Beautiful collection! I really love that butterfly!
Becky, this collection is beautiful. I hope it’s ok – I’d like to share my story. In 2015 I had my first mammogram in 30 years – my first one had been horrendous & I said: Never again! I’ll die of breast cancer first! Because of some major pleading from a Doctor I highly respected in 2015 I conceded to go for the second mammogram of my life at 63. It came back positive. I was stunned & my daughter said to me: “Now say you’d rather die of breast cancer!” She’d been 9 when I recklessly uttered those words. It was in early stages & I was treated successfully. I’m very glad to be alive & quite ashamed of myself for such a bad attitude in my younger years; but, I want to put the word out too. Please, please ladies – don’t take mammograms lightly – they can save your life!! Thanks again Becky for such a worthy project – women are the backbone of society & we need to be healthy!!!
So very happy you conceded, friend.
Wat a great collection and a beautiful set of awareness. Would love to use this to uplift cancer survivor friends and family. It’s a creative therapy and would love to win and share this with my scrapper bestie!
Get checked and encourage a friend!
Love the collection, perfect for documenting all the great events that happen in October in support of Breast Cancer support and research!
Beautiful collection for a worthy cause! I love it!
What a great cause! If I was to win I would make a card for my mother.
15 years ago a teeny tiny breast cancer mass was found during a regular mammogram screening. At that time she has a partial mastectomy to remove the cancer, went through radiation and chemo. Fast forward to this spring when she noticed an aching lump in the same general area as the last cancer. Turned out it was a different, but extremely aggressive form of breast cancer. Fortunately, she was able to have it removed quickly. She is my hero for attacking this disease head on with a positive attitude and grace. We are so fortunate that she is still with us.
My advise is not to rely on mammogram screening alone. If you notice any strange lumps or bumps get it checked out right away. It may be nothing or it may save your life.
Thanks for the opportunity to win such great product. Sadly I know many breast cancer survivors.
This year I have become very aware of Breast Cancer. I found a mass in March 2019, had many tests and doctors appointments throughout the summer. My surgeon wanted to do a lumpectomy but I really was not comfortable with his conclusion. My husband and I decided to go to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN for a second opinion and it was the best thing I could have done. They determined that I should have a double mastectomy from their findings. Came home and told my surgeon that I wished to have a double mastectomy, which he wasn’t happy about but I was educated from Mayo on the likelihood of another reoccurrence down the road (which I didn’t want, no one wants). So in July I had my surgery and have since found out some very positive results. Still healing but feeling cancer free, which is an amazing feeling. Life can go on! This sounds like a simple story but in fact it was a very emotional, overwhelming and tear filled summer which I don’t wish on anyone. Cancer sucks! Thank you for creating this collection, it’s lovely.
My sister-in-law battled stage three breast cancer last year. Thankfully she is still with us and is eagerly anticipating the birth of her first grandchild. I know that all the support available to her as she went through her horrendous ordeal was a huge blessing. Thank you for you generous support of such a wonderful cause.
What a fantastic collection and such a great cause. Breast cancer runs rampant in my Mother’s side of the family and I have seen so many women, young and old, having to deal with this terrible disease. Fortunately, thanks to advancements in science, due to donations to Cancer Research Organizations, breast cancer is no longer the death sentence it once was. But it is still very important to do regular self breast exams and mammograms. Early detection saves lives!
Gorgeous collection. Several women in my family have had breast cancers, some survivors, some not.. It’s so important to have those mammograms. No matter what your reservation may be, fear of it hurting, fear of finding out, please have it done. Every year. God bless you all. ????????????
Becky, this is a beautiful collection and for such a good cause! Your projects are lovely! This cause is near and dear to my heart as one of my best friends passed away from breast cancer in 2008 at the young age of 38. I think all of us have been affected by this horrible disease or know someone who has. Awareness, self-examination and regular mammograms is key!
Love this collection!
Wonderful collection! Thanks for the chance to win!!
Wonderful collection! Thanks for the chance to win!!
This collection is beautiful. I especially love the Fight Like a Girl sentiment. I have fought that fight and won. I encourage everyone to listen to your body, if something doesn’t feel right talk to your doctor. Nobody knows you like you.
As a mammography technologist, I am aware of the importance of these tests, but it still hits home very hard when my friends, develope this disease. The Photo Play collection is lovely and it is always nice when a company gives to great causes and helps raise awareness Thank you
I so appreciate that you are honor the women and those who love them with this giveaway. Thank you. ❤️
I have just been diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer-,different cancer in each breast though. Shocked doesn’t even define my emotion, But silver lining – it’s in early stage. Weird thing is, I had made a cancer inspirational journal for a contest and kept thinking, “hope there is never anyone to give this to”. Huh, jinxed myself, Anyway when I did the journal, I had a hard time finding scrapbook paper with the breast cancer theme. I would love to win this lovely paper as I have met some ladies I would love to present with another inspirational journal.
I love the name of this paper collection – Operation Save Second Base. I attend a crop every October that raises money for breast cancer patients….would love to win this to use at a prize at that event!
I am now four years since my mastectomy. Fortunately it was caught very early through screening. Kudos for raising awareness!
