Hello Scrapbook & Cards Today scrappers, it’s Lisa Dickinson here! I just finished my assignments for the upcoming winter issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine (two words: WINTER WONDERFUL!) and I really enjoyed using the new Parasol Collection by Maggie Holmes for one of my projects. Because I have plenty of pretty scraps left over, I thought I concoct a few simple cards using items from this lovely line!
Supplies | Card bases: Scrapbook.com A2 cards; Patterned paper: Parasol La Musique, Parasol Perfect Day, Parasol Dreaming; Stickers and trim: Parasol Embellishment Kit; Adhesive: Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L foam squares
The Parasol Perfect Day paper is filled with various tags and cards, which are perfect for making a quick and easy card! For my first card, I chose one of the 3×4 tags to cut out and mount atop patterned paper, embellishing the edge of the tag with a ruffle, included in the Parasol Embellishment Kit.
A little bit of texture goes a long way on a card, and smaller scraps of ribbon, twine and fringe are perfect for this use!
For my second card, I trimmed out two more tags from the patterned paper. I love using general sentiments because they can serve a variety of card-giving purposes.
I tied pom pom fringe through the holes of the two tags for a whimsical touch and mounted them on a patterned paper card base. A few epoxy stickers finish off this simple card!
The next time you finish a layout, create a quick card with the leftover scraps! It’s a great way to clean up your space, and increase your stash of cards!

Great ideas.
I love this! I just finished fussy cutting a bunch of shapes from patterned paper and there are a few that I won’t need for my layout… so I’ll definitely be making a card or two from the extras!
These are super cute. Great use of scraps.
Good ideas and inspiration! I love the pink ruffle border especially!! Have to use my trims more so this was really helpful!!
