Hello, Scrapbook & Cards Today friends! It’s Wendy Sue here today, sharing a layout I created with the fun “FaBOOlous” collection by Simple Stories! Here’s a look at the layout I created using this fun new Halloween set:

Supplies: Patterned paper, stickers, chipboard, die-cuts, enamel dots: Simple Stories FaBOOlous collection; Twine: May Arts; Tape and foam adhesive: Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, Scrapbook.com; Other: orange thread and sewing machine

I just love the unique color colorway which includes deep greens and pinks, along with the more traditional black and orange combo.

I had so much fun mixing and matching the different elements in this set—chipboard frames, chipboard embellishments, stickers, die-cuts, and enamel dots, too! I love how the different textures and varying heights add interest to the page.

I wanted to tell the story about a Halloween gone wrong for my kiddo. He had a fun costume planned with a friend and he woke up terribly ill on Halloween, so he couldn’t participate in any of our regular Halloween traditions. I was able to use bits and pieces from the collection to create an appropriate title, “A Little Halloween Trick.”

If you get creative enough you can always make a fun title or embellishment that will work for any story or photo. Fussy cutting words and shapes from printed papers is a great way to make a collection go to work for you!

I added some hidden journaling and a photo of the “should have been” costumed duo inside a flip-up card, under the photo of Zach at the doctor’s office. Of course, I added additional stickers and embellishments inside the flip-up as well!

When was the last time something didn’t go as planned for you? Did you document it? I’d love to challenge you to create a page about it!

Have a FaBOOlous time!
