Hello, friends! It’s Meghann Andrew with you today! We all love buying new card making products, but we also love the satisfaction of using something in our stash again to get more value from it. Today, I’m sharing a few tips on mixing and matching stamps and dies in your stash from different manufacturers, as I did when I created this fun Halloween card!

Supplies | Concord & 9th: Celebration Squad bundle, cardstock and ink in Fig and Mushroom, cardstock in BlackCayenne, & Nectar, ink in Honeycomb, Clementine, Spiced Cider, & Nutmeg, Rainbow glitter paper pack; The Stamp Market: Witch Pleeease stamp set, Witch Pleeease dies, Sparkle cover die; Brutus Monroe: Metallic embossing powder – gilded; Heidi Swapp: gold metallic pigment spray; Honey Bee Stamps: Confetti; Gina K. Designs: blending brushes, adhesive dot runner; fine tip bottles – 3 pack; Scrapbook.com: Rose Quartz Misti, Rose Quartz Stampendable, Smart craft glue; Scrapbook & Cards Today: SCT Exclusive 100 lb cover cardstock – 100 sheets

I have wanted to create this card since the Celebration Squad bundle made its way to my crafty space, and as soon as I saw Susan R. Opel’s take using the same bundle in our Fall 2023 Issue, I knew I had to craft this card, however, I wanted it to have a Halloween theme. The only way to do that was to mix and match products from Concord & 9th with The Stamp Market—I had purchased the awesome Witch Pleeease stamp and dies and Sparkle cover die last fall and loved the idea of using them again in a different way! I knew they would work together perfectly for a few reasons that I want you to keep in mind when you try to mix & match products:

Combine products from manufacturers that have a similar style

Both Concord & 9th and The Stamp Market have clean, modern designs, and I knew their aesthetic would work well when paired.

Consider scale

The scale of the products you are combining must be the same, or the design will look disjointed. I tried the hat from the Witch Pleeease dies on the head from the Celebration Squad bundle before I put the card together to see if the scale was the same on both, which it was! This hat looked perfect paired with the squad girl!

Amend products as necessary to make them work

Sometimes when you combine products from different manufacturers, you will need to amend the products to make them work together. This means that you may have to fussy cut a stamped image or hand cut a die cut to combine it with another one. I wanted my witch to have a long-sleeved dress on, so I cut the body twice: once from Nectar cardstock, then from Fig cardstock, and then cut the sleeve using scissors. It turned out perfectly!

Once I had my witch completed and adhered together, I wanted to create a fun & magical background for my card. I ink-blended an A2-sized panel using Clementine, Spiced Cider, Fig, and Mushroom inks from Concord & 9th, then sprayed it with a metallic pigment spray. Once dry, I topped it with the white cardstock panel cut using the Sparkle cover die. My sentiment, stamped with the Witch Pleeease stamp set and embossed using gold embossing powder added a fun and familiar saying to the card front. I finished it with a few confetti sparkles from Honey Bee Stamps!

I hope you get inspired to not only use the latest-and-greatest new products on your desk but also pull out a few favourites from your stash to mix and match your way to a magical card creation! Happy Halloween, everyone!
