Hello, SCT friends! It’s Dee here, and I am so excited to be sharing my first cards of 2022 with all of you today! I’ve combined products from a few of our favorite brands to create these two non-traditional, winter-themed cards that will be sure to give you frosty vibes!

This first card is a snowy winter scene that’s simple to recreate. I began with an A2-sized, white card base and adhered several snowflakes cut with the smallest snowflake die from The Stamp Market’s Snow Flurries Dies, trimming off the excess. To make this step a little easier, instead of using liquid glue, you can add clear double-sided adhesive behind the cardstock before die-cutting the snowflakes so that you can just peel and stick them onto the base once cut!

For the houses, I used fun, non-traditional colored cardstock from Concord & 9th and The Stamp Market, along with the Concord & 9th Home For The Holidays Stacks dies, adhering them to the center of the snowflake panel using liquid adhesive and foam squares. To add sparkle, I die-cut the windows using glitter cardstock and adhered them onto each house.

I then silver heat embossed a sentiment from the Concord & 9th Home For The Holiday Stacks stamp set onto white cardstock and cut it with the coordinating banner die. To add a subtle detail, I die-cut the sentiment banner once more in silver glitter cardstock and adhered it, slightly offset, behind the sentiment. To finish, I splattered white paint over the entire panel to create a snowy appearance and once dry, I mounted it onto an A2-sized, top-folding card base!

For the second card, I used the same color scheme, but inverted it, creating a simple, geometric design. I began by cutting 1/2” strips of colored cardstock and adhered them onto an A2-sized panel, rotating direction with each color set. Next, I cut snowflakes from the same Snow Flurries Dies. For each snowflake, I cut it once in white and once in Diamond Glitter cardstock, keeping the glitter snowflakes intact (negative die cuts and outline) with tape, then adhered just the outline of the white snowflake on top. I then used the itty bitty circle dies from the Home For The Holidays Stacks dies, meant to be used as wreaths for the houses, and glitter cardstock to add some detail to the center of the snowflake!

To finish, I stamped, heat embossed, and die cut the same sentiment as in the first card and trimmed one side of it before adhering to the card with foam adhesive.

I hope that you enjoyed reading more about these cards and are inspired to create a card (or two!) of your own! Have a great day and stay safe, friends!
