Happy World Card Making Day 2021! It’s Latisha Yoast here with you today! This is such a special day for cardmakers to celebrate what we love to do: making cards. When thinking about the cards made the most, what comes to mind are birthday, thank you, and Christmas cards. Today, I am going to share a birthday card set made the exact same way, but utilizing colored cardstock to make each card a little different.

For this set of cards, I am using Concord & 9th’s Birthday Perfect Pairings Dies, the “happy birthday” sentiment from the Let’s Party Turnabout, and cardstock in white, honeysuckle, grapefruit, seaglass, and peacock.

Each of the colored cardstock was die cut using the balloon die. Having a large focal point saves so much time and is perfect for mass-producing cards. After die cutting the balloon image in each color, there is going to be a solid image outline of the balloons, then there will be negative pieces that will fall out. Do not toss these out. Divide the negative pieces up, then adhere them into the other colored die cuts, to have one complete set of balloons.

The balloons can be adhered directly to a card front or panel with glue, or for a more elevated look with dimension, pop the balloons up with foam adhesive. I turned the balloon over, so the backside is facing me, and placed foam adhesive on the back. Before adhering the die cuts down, using a Misti stamping platform, a “happy birthday” sentiment was stamped in black onto each card front. To embellish, sequins were adhered to the card with glue.

I hope each and every one of you participating in Word Cardmaking Day is having so much fun! Remember to be easy on yourself when creating a card‚—the recipient of the card will just be so happy to get snail mail! I encourage you all to save some time and mass produce cards today. Find a design, then replicate it.
