An invaluable lesson I have learned was that you are enough! This was late in coming to me but after I was able to accept that it has made many aspects of life that much more pleasurable! Thank you to the woman who helped me learn that (you know who you are)!
To never compare myself and my abilities to anyone else’s abilities and never limit myself just to what other people say I am capable of.
My mom always told me to trust my instincts and she was right! Whenever I’ve gone against them, something unfortunate has occurred! My mom is the best.
I think the most important lesson is You Do You! Don’t compare yourself to anyone else and be the best that you can!
A belief in the goodness of others…
My mom was a strong believer that you could do anything you wanted if you put energy into learning, patience and persistence in practice, and eventually you could be proud of your accomplishments!
If you don’t at first succeed, try and try again. From my Mom, and passed on to my son through me.
Oh my gosh, I’ve learned so much from so many great women in my life! One of the best things I’ve learned from my mom is the classic you can do anything you want to do. I saw her in action, building a career after spending a large part of her life raising me and my brothers.
I learned many valuable lessons from my Grandma. The biggest one is to keep on going, trust the Lord and never give up. She lived a hard life as a dairy farmer’s wife. She had to bury two of her children and be a caregiver for my grandfather for years as he dealt with cancer. She always had a grateful attitude even in hardship. I hope I emulate her in my own life. Thanks for the inspiration and chance to win a great prize. :D
My mom was my best friend and teacher. She made all my clothes or altered my older sisters things so they fit me. Learned her tricks and tips cooking from scratch. She is gone now but is still in my life. I’m head over heels for the Mother’s Day cards made with In the kitchen stencils and dies. Thank you for your wonderful products.
so many lessons but the main one is “being yourself” – don’t struggle to be something you are not, just to please someone else:)
Advice: hold your head high and blaze your own trail.
The invaluable lesson I learned from an important woman in my life was that there are no perfect mothers, and you only need to be a “good enough” mother. This saved my sanity and my life.
My mom always taught me to be kind. You never know what is happening in someone else’s world and it costs you nothing to be kind.
I have learned many wonderful things from the women in my life. How to get to work and make things happen. To serve others and reach out to help – there are always opportunities to help if you are willing to look for them.
My Mom always told me that honesty is always the best way and will get you more in life.
My mom always said watch how people treat animals. It will be a good sign for how they treat people. It was excellent advice!
An invaluable lesson I learned is that most of the time 80% is good enough, so don’t strive for perfection before attempting new things and you will see how much more you accomplish when you don’t fear falling short of perfection.

One of the most valuable lessons that my mother has imparted to me is to always express graitude. I will always remember this, and it has been my life motto until today.

The women that I learned a lot about was a friends sister Her name was May. She had cancer for many years. She beat one to get another different kind. She never quit fighting. She never complained. She never gave up. She would help people even though she was sicker than them. The day after she had chemotherapy she would have what she called a May Day. She would not answer her phone she just hung out with her thoughts. She lost her fight but she fought till the very end. I talk about her often as I have so much respect and love for her.
My sister taught me that I can do anything I set my mind to. Whether it’s picking up and moving to another state or opening a business, she has always been there to support me.
Not a person that I know, but would love to sit with her for awhile. Dolly Parton said we cannot direct the wind, but we can adjust the sails.
An invaluable lesson I learned was from a very close friend of mine I was struggling with a coworker of mine and worried constantly about the issue, even keeping me awake at night. I confided in my friend for advice and she said to me – “Let Go and Let God”. The next day, I hung that message on my computer so I could see it every day as a reminder to “let go”. Best advice I ever received!
My mother taught me that there is always a way to do something, it may not be the conventional way, but it will get done.
How you value yourself is how others perceive you. We all are taught to treat others with respect, but we need to respect ourselves and know that we are enough. Life will always challenge you with curve balls. Strive to find the light around every shadow. ~My mom, 46 year cancer survivor.

My mother passed away in early November. I struggled greatly as a teen and she told me to “be a leader, not a follower” This has rung true with me on several occasions when groups of women (in my younger years) would begin to get catty with one another. We grow by lifting others UP! :)

My mother got cancer when I was 7 and they told her she wouldn’t live to see me graduate high school. I’ll be 51 in May and she’s still here! She taught me to not always believe what they tell you, but to keep on going anyway and see how far you get!

The lesson I learned is to have some grace when dealing with others. When I was younger, I was a perfectionist to a fault and had a hard time understanding how others were not.
