Happy Monday!!! We’re so glad you could join us for Day 3 of our annual 12 Days of Holiday Giving! If you are just joining us for the first time we welcome you! Think of our 12 Days of Holiday Giving as kind of like Oprah and her favourite things show. While we don’t give everyone a car, you can be sure the prizes are exactly what a papercrafter wants! “On the 3rd day of SCT’s 12 days of holiday giving, SCT shared with me….a beautiful layout from designer Paige Evans and a fabulous prize package from Pink Paislee and Echo Park!”
“Good morning SCT friends! My newest collection with Pink Paislee, Whimsical, is not a holiday-themed line, but by picking out bits and pieces and pairing them with snowflakes, glitter, and sequins, I was able to create a wintery page!
Start with a light green ombre patterned paper background and then die cut a snowflake border cut file from smooth white cardstock. Apply iridescent liquid glitter glue to the snowflake border die cut and set it aside to dry.
On the left and top edges where the snowflake border will go, apply a layer of white gesso and let it dry then splash white acrylic paint on top and let it dry. Splash lots of watercolors in colors to match the collection you’re using on top, letting it dry between each layer. Tip: I used a hair dryer to speed up the drying process.
Once the background is completely dry, add the snowflake border die cut using dimensional adhesive. Tuck a photo into the left side and add a mint sticker torn in half under the top and bottom edges. Scatter colorful stickers, enamel dots, die cuts, and chipboard stickers on and around the snowflake border as shown. Create the title with gold word chipboard stickers on the top left corner.
Add clear sequins over the snowflake border as well as the empty space of the layout for texture and shine. On the bottom right corner, trim a gold scalloped border sticker in half, use the pieces to edge the corner, then machine stitch over it. Write journaling with a black pen.
