Happy October! Virginia here on the blog today to share a special Fall memory (many years ago) of my daughter’s kindergarten school trip to the apple orchard. It was a fun-filled day of apple picking, corn mazes and baking a delicious apple pie.
I created this dual-purpose scrapbook page incorporating a pocket to hold the recipe. To this day I still love making this apple pie!
I used papers from Close to My Heart’s warm Hawthorn collection along with The Giving Thanks stamp set. This stamp set has some really cute images that fit perfectly in the Multi-square Windows Thin Cuts die.
Tip: Did you know that alcohol markers like Copics work great to colour glittered foam letters? Originally, the foam letters were gold but I wanted to darken them with a deep cranberry to make the title stand out a bit more.
Have a wonderful Canadian Thanksgiving weekend, may your hearts fill with joy and enjoy a slice of pie or two!
Lovely layout! Love the fox!
I always love Virginia’s designs and this one is beautiful. I love how she incorporated the grid. AND that apple pie recipe is making me hungry!!!

Love this layout and Virginia’s style. I think it’s adorable how she used the stamped images on her page and great tip about colouring the gold foam letters! Never thought of doing that! That’s why we love Virginia. She always has the best ideas. :)
