Hello SCT friends! It’s Latisha Yoast here with you today to talk about mass-producing cards. Creating multiple cards of the same design is a great way to replenish your card stash, create gift card sets, Christmas cards, or in my case, creating cards for deploying sailors, to send home to loved ones.
It’s fun to shop your craft room for supplies to create a project like this. After gathering stencils, ink, blender brushes, a few dies, cardstock, and foam adhesive, it was time to sit down to create. I cut white cardstock into quarters, giving me four A2-sized card fronts measuring 4.25 x 5.5 inches. Each card front was stenciled with a mix of three ink colors.
Once the panels were stenciled, it was time to die cut them. To start, each panel was die cut using the Postal Cover panel from Reverse Confetti. Then, I used a smaller Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle die, placing it along the inside stitches of the Postal Cover panel, and die cut the center out. This gave me two die cuts from each piece, the center rectangle, and the framed postal panel.
Next, I stamped the sentiment from The Stamp Market A Simple Hello stamp set directly onto the card fronts. For this step, using a stamp platform helped immensely, allowing for quick stamping and ensuring perfect placement. Once all of the sentiments were stamped, the die cuts were adhered to the card fronts using 3D foam squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.
A few cards and panels were stenciled onto colored cardstock. Mixing and matching the two different die cuts and colored and white bases gave the set variety and made each card so fun to create!
It saves so much time to create a stack of cards like this while all of your supplies are out. If you happen to feel inspired and mass-produce cards, please tag us, @sctmagazine, on our social media sites! We love to see what our readers are creating!
