We’d love to welcome Jenny Young from Scrappin Happy Studio to the blog to share her newly renovated, pretty space! There are so many ideas to gain from her space—just look at all of that storage!

Hi, I’m Jenny from scrappinhappystudio.com! I am so excited to share my creative workspace with you!

My creative space has an unusual history as it was just a carport when we first bought our home. We’ve made many renovations over the years converting it into my studio. Most recently we made expansions and added a step-up lounge area allowing me more space to run my two businesses as well as creating an area where friends and family can sit and visit while I work.

I created a space that I use not only for my favorite hobby (scrapbooking!) but also to run my small businesses. Since I spend 6 days a week in my studio I needed the space to be not only aesthetically pleasing but to be functional as well. I brightened up the space with lots of lights and a door with a large glass window where natural light pours in.

I lined this wall with lower cabinets providing ample storage space with room to spare as my supply stock grows in the coming years. I added butcher block countertops giving much-needed table space for packing orders and making crafty messes. Along the top of my walls, my husband built shelves to store extra products. We then added Ikea cabinets on top of the counters to hold business supplies, plus it provides easy access to my cutting machines.

This wall is my favorite as I added lots of fun decor and layouts, plus additional storage using metal baskets and wood cubbies that hold ink, thread, stamps, buttons, and more. Below are 12 x 12-inch black and white albums from Hobby Lobby housed in storage cubbies. My husband built the desk that sits on top of the albums creating even more storage.

I keep my printer down below the cabinets. I love that I can tuck it away when not in use. The front cabinets hold business supplies that are easily accessible. My husband built the television cabinet to the right, then added a shelf below for my button-making supplies.

My lounge area is the perfect space for when my family comes in for a visit or when I need a break. We added shelves above the sofa to display layouts and a pink cabinet in the corner that holds extra business supplies like paper, ink, and extra shipping items.

My creative space has evolved as my needs have changed over the years but I finally feel like it’s finished, and I know my husband is happy to hear that! Thank you for coming along with me to tour my studio. I hope it inspires you when developing your own crafty space.
