Hello Scrapbook & Cards Today friends, it’s Becki here to share with you a couple of easy and fun holiday cards. I created these cards for the holidays, but the dies that I used are not holiday specific. They’re great for everyday cards too! Let’s jump in and get started!

Supplies | The Stamps of Life: Family Shaped Card Fold Die Set, Newport Flower Shaped Card Fold-it Die Set, patterned paper, cardstock, sequins, acetate; Scrapbook.com: 1/8th adhesive foam strips, tape runner adhesive, white cardstock; Hobby Lobby: buttons

The card die sets that I used are both very generic shapes. All I did was add holiday-themed patterned paper to give these cards a holiday feel. The “fold–it” dies were very easy to use! All you have to do is place the fold of your card next to the edge of the die where it says “place fold here.” I love that the directions are etched into the die so that you know exactly where to place the fold!

I created the flower card first. I started out thinking that I would create one flower, but it was so easy and fun that I created a second card. On the pink card, I used a pink text patterned paper as the back of the shaker element. I love that this patterned paper is holiday-themed without the traditional red and green. I moved to the second card and decided to use a solid paper as the background so that the white sequins would be more visible.

Initially, I wanted to leave the center of the card blank or make it a yellow center. I decided against both of those the second that I laid the flower centers that I cut with coordinating paper. I love having the center of the flowers the same color with a coordinating button in the center. It’s simple enough not to overwhelm the shaker element, but it gives the card a finished look. Without the centers, the card looked a little bare.

The last card I created was the “family” shaped card. Again, I used patterned papers that gave this card a holiday theme without using any holiday dies or embellishments. I LOVE how easily and quickly this card came together. The base of the card is cut out of pink cardstock. Again, it was SO easy to create the card base with the directions etched on the die. I knew exactly where the die went. The letters of the word “family” are cut out of dark green paper. I wanted the letters to stand out against the striped patterned paper layer underneath. I used foam adhesive strips to adhere the word “family” to the card. I think this step made all the difference, as it gave the card tons of interest and dimension. I’m going to add a family photo and a special note to the inside of this card. I think it will be loved by the recipient!

I am so happy with how these cards came together. They were fast, easy, and absolutely darling! I would love to see cards that you’ve created with versatile die sets. Of course, you’ll want to check these die sets out in The Stamps of Life store, too! Thank you so much for stopping by the Scrapbook & Cards Today blog. I hope that you have a holiday season full of love, peace, and comfort. Happy Holidays!
