We are so excited to kick off a new week full of gratitude… to YOU! We have so much to be thankful for, but mostly for you, our SCT community! Your support & encouragement is what makes us love what we do here at SCT so much, and this week, we want to give back to you. Every day will feature a new thankful-themed project from our team and a special guest to inspire you, as well as a giveaway from us at SCT! Let’s kick off the week with a freebie by our own Paige Evans and inspiration from the talented Wendy Sue Anderson!

Hello SCT Friends! It’s Wendy Sue here today, sharing the layout I created with the gorgeous November 2023 Thankful cut file designed by Paige Evans! Take a look!

Here’s a look at the layout I created using the cut file:

Supplies | Patterned paper (Harvest solid and patterned paperCozy paper pad), Cozy Autumn Foliage metal dies, adhesive: Scrapbook.com; Cardstock: Carta Bella Paper; Stickers, enamel dots, number metal dies: Echo Park Paper; Electronic die cutting machine: Silhouette; Twine: May Arts; Other: button, sewing machine, thread

Every time I get to work with one of these fun cut files, I feel so lucky! They are so much fun to use and they really are the star of the page. Just use some of your favorite patterned (or solid) papers to back the openings and most of the work is done!

I cut out the file from white cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo. I was able to work with the Harvest solid and patterned papers by Scrapbook.com to create this project. Not only are the colors gorgeous, but they were the perfect weight to fussy cut to back the cut file.

I drew inspiration from the rainbow of colors in the solid paper pad, a perfect fit for the title “Thankful” as there are 8 colors in the paper pad and 8 letters to fill! I followed the order on the beautiful cover and backed each letter with a different solid color.

I selected some of the gorgeous patterned papers from the Harvest patterned paper and the Cozy paper pad, also from Scrapbook.com, to back the leaves and berries.

Because the paper pad is 6 x 8-inches, I had to think about what I wanted to use for the base of my 12 x 12-inch layout. I opted to cut strips from the multi-color striped paper to create a border around the edges of a sheet of white cardstock. I mitered the corners to create a frame.

Next, I stitched around a 10 x 10 piece of white cardstock. I love the way this adds a bit of texture, and using colored thread ties it to the rest of the page!

As you can see, I used lots of colorful layers and foam adhesive, and even cut some extra branches with the Cozy Autumn Foliage metal dies by Scrapbook.com. To complete my layout, I added twine, buttons, and a few stickers.

I hope you’re feeling inspired to use this new Thankful cut file on a layout documenting something, or someone, you’re thankful for! Don’t forget you can adjust the size to use on a smaller page, in a mini album, or even on a card!

Happy thankful season!
