Hooray for April! It’s my birthday month!
We’ve had a snowy winter here in Utah, and I’m looking forward to spring. All that snow is going to make for a lush display of flowers and greenery in the valley this year, and I can’t wait.
I’m normally drawn to super-saturated colors, but lately I’ve been embracing pastels. Soft pinks, Tiffany blues, and lovely shades of lilac, lavender, and mint. This card I created pays homage to the soft colors and my birthday month.
Supplies | Patterned paper: Spellbinders; Stamp: Gina K. Designs; Ink: Simon Says Stamp; Gems: Honey Bee Stamps; Dies: Gina K. Designs, My Favorite Things; Ribbon: Offray; Adhesive: Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, Simon Says Stamp
This gorgeous floral die from Gina K. Designs had my heart the minute I saw it. My original plan was to inlay this die cut, but I am not going to lie… I could tell that would be a TON of work. I took a left turn and decided that the tone-on-tone white was going to look gorgeous.
The white floral swag pops on the pretty patterned papers from Spellbinders. And some jewels from Honey Bee Stamps make a few of the flowers shimmer. And I’m always in favor of a pretty satin bow.
Why not stretch yourself this month and use some colors you don’t typically use? You might find it absolutely delightful!
Here’s to a wonderful April and a springtime filled with flowers and happiness!
gorgeous card!
Happy Birthday month Susan. A very pretty card! I’m the opposite – I am drawn to pastels and use the more saturated colours occasionally.
