Tell us your history! How did Simple Stories begin and how did you get to where you are now?
We’re husband and wife team Amber and Kevin Crowell! As a busy wife and mother, I loved creating scrapbook pages of my family. But with so many photos and not enough time, I soon become overwhelmed and frustrated with my hobby. I dreamed of creating beautiful, meaningful albums that would showcase my favorite photos and memories – yet in a simple and creative way. This sparked an idea for an easy album solution, so geared with my creativity and entrepreneurial spirit we took the leap and created our own Simple Stories brand of products, featuring time-saving scrapbooking products that allow customers to share their stories simply.
With a big dream and bare-bones budget, we took our product idea to the CHA Winter 2011 show in Los Angeles to showcase our new products to paper crafting retailers across the globe. It was an instant success and Simple Stories has quickly become one of the leading brands in the paper crafting industry today.
Tell us a little about your team!
We’re a small family-owned business with an amazing team of employees who we consider family (some of which actually are!) We have around 19-20 employees, that wear many hats including sales, marketing, design, education, warehouse, shipping, and accounting. We also have 4 products designers located around the country that help design our beautiful scrapbook products, under the art direction of Amber.
What product in your shop best represents Simple Stories?
We’re proud to say that Simple Stories was the very first to introduce the 6×8 size pocket page memory system to the scrapbook market! Our SN@P! album system is our signature product which includes 6×8 chipboard binders, designer binders, and Flipbooks that include our popular pocket pages with a variety of formats – simply insert our predesigned element cards with photos in the pocket pages for quick and easy scrapbooking!
What can we expect to see coming in 2022 that you are excited about?
We have so many exciting products we’re introducing in 2022! We’ll be sharing these new products on our website and social media throughout the year. Stay tuned as we announce these new collections!
If someone has never heard Simple Stories before, what is the one takeaway you’d like to give them, aka your ‘elevator speech’ or mission statement!
Our slogan is “Share your story… simply” and that’s our whole mission—helping our customers to share their memories in a simple yet beautiful way. Every product we create and produce is focused on helping our customers capture their memories in a quick and easy way!
Any Simple Stories secrets to share?
Simple Stories has experienced tremendous growth and continues to design and introduce beautiful designs and simple scrapbook solutions to the paper crafting market and we will continue to create innovative products. We love our employees, retailers, and customers and feel so blessed to work in this amazing industry!

I was a retailer at the time of their first show and fell in love with them then. I have been using Simple Stories products ever since.
The albums are my “go to” albums. I love the colour assortment and add ons. Paper lines go with everything…mix and match. And. I get so much mileage from leftover scraps for cards. Win, win!
Simple Stories is one of my all time fav paper crafting lines! I recall making a frame of my friends’ daughter using the 100 days of summer collection. I must say that now, I enjoy the simple pages and pieces and the simple cards. Beautiful items that can be made quickly and easily. Thank you for all you do!
My favorite scrapbook loine
I love the simplicity of Simple Stories and how quickly you can throw a page or three together and that it’s easy for the great nieces when they want to help create pages in a family scrapbook. Thanks for creating such a great product.
I’m “new” to Simple Stories but must say I love the versatility and modern, current designs of your new lines, esp. Good Stuff! It works so well with many scrapping collections (like Kate and Ash) and for different stories to tell. I bought a lot and keep buying more! I’m new to the SN@P collection as well and find these to be so useful! It is great to find such a nice product that I know I can be buy more to keep making these little albums. Really love what you have been doing lately!

I love Simple Stories products and the designs from the first time I laid eyes on them. Great quality, good price papers with beautiful designs complimented with great basic patterns. Creating a page or album becomes so easy to do with the collection packs.

Simple Stories is one of my favorites! They always have such good designs, themes, & products.
I love many Simple Stories products but the recent Vintage collections are all stunning. I am also waiting for the Boho Baby collection to be available in stores to create a baby’s first year in a 6×8 Snap album. The Vibes cardstock and matching foam alphas are also fabulous. I’ve been using Simple Stories products for years! I usually use a Sn@p binder for my December Daily album – I especially love the chipboard ones, as they are customisable! I love using the Simple Vintage collections for scrapbooking – I can’t wait for the new Indigo Garden collection to come out, the blue in that collection is lush!
