Hello friends and thanks for stopping by the SCT blog! This is Victoria, and today I am sharing two stunning cards in honor of Black History Month using the Hero Arts Unity Collection. These stamp images are perfect for creating cards that inspire and unite! Let’s begin with my first card, Nothing Can Dim.

Supplies | Hero Arts: Empowerment stamp set, Envelope Accessories Fancy Dies, Color Layering Flower Power stamp, classic vellum layering paper, Flower Petal bold ink cubes, Sky Blues dye cubes; Spellbinders: Silver Mix Color Essentials Gems; Other: Catherine Pooler Cardstock, Momental Metal Die, Joann Embossing Folder

For this card, I created a 5 x 7 inch embossed panel, trimmed about 1/8 inch to accommodate a white border. Next, using the Hero Arts Empowerment stamp, I created a portrait stamp image of a woman with flowers as her crown. This layering stamp image features four floral stamps (solid, outline, and accent) along with a silhouette stamp. Following the instructions on the back of the stamp package, I layered each stamp using a different color of ink, starting with the lightest color first and then accenting the image with dark color ink.

Next, using the coordinating metal die for this stamp set, I cut the silhouette and added silver gems from Spellbinders for extra shimmer and shine! For added interest and texture, I die cut flowers from the Hero Arts Envelope Accessories Fancy Die and two hexagons from a Tonic Studios Hexagon Metal Die and positioned these elements in the center of the card panel. Next, the floral silhouette was added using foam adhesive for a bit of dimension.

Lastly, I created a sentiment using Hero Arts vellum layering paper, embossing powder, and a sentiment stamp from the Hero Arts Empowerment Stamp. The vellum was trimmed to a two-inch strip and positioned under the flower silhouette.

I love how this card turned out! There are so many color combinations to explore with the Empowerment Stamp. Now, let’s move on to card number two, Take On The World.

Supplies | Hero Arts: American Women Wood Mount stamp, Hero Florals Nasturtium stamp, Better Together stamp; Spellbinders: Silver Mix Color Essentials Gems, white embossing powder; Copic Ciao Alcohol Markers, Jane Davenport Magic Wand Pencils, Catherine Pooler Smooth Cardstock

For my next card project, I used the Hero Arts American Women wood mount stamp to create a 5 x 7 inch card. To begin, I heat embossed the image and colored it using alcohol markers. Next, I fussy cut the image and backed it with adhesive foam. For the panel, I used the Hero Florals Nasturtium stamp to create a band of flowers and added a bit of color to the center of the flowers and leaves using color pencils. I opted not to color in the full image as I found the white space to be very striking! Next, I trimmed the panel down using a slimline die and positioned the panel on a 5 x 7 inch card base.

After adhering the panel, I positioned the American Women stamped image to the center of the card. To create the sentiment, I used the “ready to take on the world” stamp from the Hero Arts Better Together stamp and heat embossed the image using white embossing powder on a black strip of cardstock. I then adhered the sentiment strip under the American Women stamped image.

To complete this project, I added silver gems from Spellbinders for an added touch of sparkle! And with that, my two card projects are complete!
