Today we welcome guest Mari Clarke to the SCT blog! Mari is trying out a new memory keeping format: documenting in a planner, and more specifically, the Heidi Swapp Storyline Chapters planner insert. Let’s take a look at her beautiful spread that combines planning with stories so beautifully!
……………………….
The smaller format of the Heidi Swapp Storyline Chapters planner insert is perfect for documenting the everyday moments where there are multiple photos and a rich story!
Visiting a sit-down restaurant is a story to tell these days; in September a family birthday outing to a favorite Italian restaurant led to this layout. Photos were captured of family and friends as well as the delicious food prepared. The placement of photos, journaling, and embellishments is varied to create an interesting design.
Some interactive elements add interest and dimension. Flaps to lift are always fun and reveal hidden journaling underneath. The addition of stamping, typed journaling and handwriting adds interest as well.
Adding in some older photos to help document the current story adds depth to the layout’s documentation. The twine and glassine bag add extra texture!
Take a look at how this spread came together in my process video:
Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today and I hope you’re inspired to change up your scrapbooking to try this format!
Pretty awesome! I journal or at least I used to. I need to photo journal. It would be fun to do it that way. Thanks for the inspiration ❤️
This will be my memory keeping style for 2021!!! YAY! Beautiful, Mari, as always!
I love this! Such a fun way to document the every day moments and special occasions too. Love the format and the way you have used simple embellishments to accentuate your journaling and photos. I have been thinking about trying Heidi Swapp’s Chapters system and seeing how you have used it has inspired me to try it out. Thanks for sharing your process.
Beautiful. It makes me wish I was a journaler!! In hind sight it would have been a perfect way to document this crazy year!!!
So pretty Mari! I haven’t tried the Storyline planners yet but I agree…it’s a wonderful way to document the everyday.
This is awesome Mari. I am definitely going to start this right away for my 2021 yearly Agenda that will also have inserts for themes such as my WW journey and favorite tips and tricks and recipes. I had been thinking how I could do this and voilà! Your idea is perfect. I also really enjoyed your video tutorial. Thank you.
Love this. Heidi’s products always inspire me. I love the smaller format too!
