Hello there, SCT fans! It’s Meghann Andrew with you today! Happy September! As it is the start of a fresh, new month, I wanted to tell you a bit about the newest class offering that is currently in progress in our SCT Delivered Onine Classes lineup: MemoryDex 101: The Essentials, taught by the amazingly talented Lindsay Bateman and featuring a new contributing guest each week. In addition to a printable PDF full of inspiration and information, Lindsay shares a Facebook Live each week in the private Facebook Group to discuss the topic and create in real-time with us! This class is self-paced so you can join us anytime! Since we’re currently on week two, I wanted to update you on what is happening in the classroom: 

If you’ve never heard of a MemoryDex before, think of an old-school Rolodex, but for the purpose of showcasing artwork, not telephone numbers! The MemoryDex can be in the form of a spinner or a tray, and holds cards that can be used for any purpose imaginable—from holding art techniques to cherished photos, and so much more! 

Prior to week one, Lindsay introduced the MemoryDex and all of the tools available to create with it in our exclusive class Facebook group, so that we could all get familiar with it and how the MemoryDex dies and punches were to be used. Then, on August 20th, we kicked off our class on a positive note with lesson one, Message From the Heart! 

This lesson focused on bringing positivity to our desktop by using the MemoryDex to house beloved quotes, affirmations, and gratitude. In the class, Lindsay shared her favourite ways to mix art with these positive affirmations to bring your own creativity to the process!  

Week one’s special guest contributor was the amazing Jamie Pate, who shared her own thoughts on putting a positive spin on your MemoryDex, and making the messages that you create gentle reminders to yourself, like this “Make your dreams happen,” card shown above.

Week two’s lesson, Purposeful Projects, was released on Friday and challenged our class to think of the MemoryDex as a tool to hold an ongoing project of any kind. Lindsay shared the monthly cards that she creates to set the tone for each month and serve as a monthly placeholder on her MemoryDex spinner. 

I was also lucky enough to join the list of contributors in this class, and I shared the TWO purposeful projects that I’m creating in my MemoryDex spinners. Can you guess what one may be from the sneak above?

I love seeing that our class attendees have found their purposeful projects already, like Patti Wnek’s things that make her happy and Leah MacLean’s holiday cards!
