Hello crafty friends! It is Nathalie with you today, sharing a new project just in time for Mother’s Day. Over the past two years, our Mother’s Day has looked very different, as we were under lockdown. However, we tried our best to make it special, and for me, that means my kids have to pose for as many pictures as I want for the day! How is that for a perfect present?! So, I pulled a few of the photos, and the beautiful Simple Vintage Indigo Garden collection from Simple Stories to create this layout.

Supplies | Patterned Paper, die cuts, chipboard stickers, foam stickers, brads, chipboard frames: Simple Stories Indigo Garden Collection; Adhesive: Scrapbook.com; Ink: Heidi Swapp; Edge punch: We R Memory Keepers

The inspiration for this page comes from the collection. Most of the designs and embellishments show layering.

I started with one of the basic patterned papers from the collection. Then, I pulled more patterned papers to create paper layers. I used an edge punch to add texture to some of the papers, which helps to create interest in the paper layers.

One of my favorite embellishments from most Simple Stories collections are their chipboard frames. I used one of them to help me anchor the photos to the spread. Once again, I used die cuts and stickers to achieve that layered look on the embellishment clusters of the page.

I am sure that most mothers receive flowers on their day, so I wanted to bring as many flowers as I could to the page, and the Simple Vintage Indigo Garden is filled with soft and colorful florals! It was just so easy to cluster them around the pictures.

I chose a few of the foam stickers to create the title for my page. Then, I used a few of the collection’s butterfly die cuts to bring the page together. My last touch was to add a few drops of gold ink around the page.

I cannot wait to see all your Mother’s Day memories documented! Remember to share your finished projects with us on social media by tagging @sctmagazine—we love to be inspired by you!

Have a blessed Mother’s Day!
