Here at Spellbinders, we are so excited to be launching the brand-new BetterPress system!
What is BetterPress? It’s an innovative way to achieve the elegant look of letterpress without all the mess! The BetterPress System works with your manual die-cutting machine to create effortless and detailed letterpress effects.
The BetterPress System itself contains everything you need to immediately start creating. We honored the tradition of letterpress when naming our pieces, such as the chase (platform), the platen (clear top), and press plates (metal images). Also included in the starter system is our specially formulated ink, cotton card panels in A2 size, and a roll of Best Ever Craft Tape.
Want to see how easy it is to create letterpress projects?
Step 1: tape your cotton card panel to the platen using the printed grid to align the panel. Place your metal press plate (think of it as a very detailed metal stamp) on the magnetic insert. The coordinating grid on the magnetic surface matches your platen! And, don’t worry, it won’t move at all as you ink the plate with BetterPress ink.
Step 2: gently align your clear platen to the chase – the magnets in each corner will easily “snap” into place. It’s so satisfying!
Step 3: just bring your entire platform over to your favorite die-cutting machine, like the Platinum 6 machine shown here, and roll in through (only one time is perfect).
Step 4: the best step of all – the reveal! Remove the tape from the corners and enjoy your pressed image, ready to place on a card base. The detail of the press plate has been debossed deep into your cotton paper for a difference you can feel!
What next? There are so many possibilities now that you have learned the basics. You can color your images, you can letterpress with multiple colors, you can press images on top of inked backgrounds, and there is no limit except your imagination!
