Hello, Scrapbook & Cards Today Friends! It’s Wendy Sue here today, sharing a layout I created with the fun new cut file designed by Paige Evans!

Here’s a look at the layout I created using this sensational star background cut file!

Supplies | Carta Bella Paper The 4th of July collection: Patterned paper, stickers, ephemera, enamel dots; Red Twine: May Arts; Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L: tape runner, foam adhesive; Scrapbook.com: Adhesive, foam adhesive; Tools: Silhouette Cameo; Other: white thread, sewing machine

The repeated star grid design was very quilt-like, so I rolled with that idea and pieced together many of the stars on the background.

I used The Fourth of July collection from Carta Bella Paper to create my page. I started by cutting the entire design from a neutral, white striped paper sheet. I mounted the white portion onto red paper with a very subtle pattern. I stitched around each of the squares with white thread.

I have found that I love using papers with smaller-scale prints to back these types of cut files, and this layout is no exception! I placed four different 6 x 6-inch patterned papers on my cutting mat and cut the entire design again. Using all of these pieces, I mixed them to create my “quilted” background. I used foam adhesive to pop up some of the solid stars.

I added a few additional embellishments, stickers, and a couple of photos to complete the page. I didn’t feel like I wanted to cover up any more of the background design, so I printed the journaling and attached it to the back of the layout.

How will you use this fun new cut file? Be sure to share your projects with us by tagging @sctmagazine on social media! We’d love to see it!!

Happy July!
