Hello there, SCT friends and fans! It’s Meghann Andrew with you today and I am so excited to be here during Valentine’s Week! I want you to not only think of this season as one to celebrate romantic love, but also the love we have for our girlfriends, too! I love to show my friends that they are loved and supported by gifting them on Valentine’s Day, and to make them feel most special, I create a handmade box or bag to house their gifts. Today’s project is a small and sweet gift bag created with only a small amount of supplies—mostly paper—and not a die cutting machine in sight! Take a look:

Supplies | Cardstock: Bazzill (kraft, vellum), The Stamp Market cardstock (blush pink, peach, citrine, tropic teal); Stamps: The Stamp Market Gorgeous Greetings; Dies: Elle’s Studio My Heart metal dies, The Stamp Market Gorgeous Greetings dies, Fringe Borders dies; Enamel dots: The Stamp Market Color Crush enamel dots; Ink: The Stamp Market; Ribbon: American Crafts; Adhesive: American Crafts Sticky Thumb glue, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Crafty Power Tape, 3D Foam Tape; Tools: We R Memory Keepers Crop-a-Dile punch

Each of these super sweet gift bags use only a half sheet of 12 x 12 inch paper to create, and a bit of scoring and cutting—no die cutting machine required! Using my scoring board, I scored and cut my 6 x 12 inch sheets of paper like this template:

It was so refreshing to use one sheet of kraft cardstock to create the base of these sweet bags, and the Crafty Power Tape from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L held the flaps together beautifully. The finished bags measure 4-1/4″ wide, 3-1/2″ high and 1-1/2″ deep. Once my base was put together, it was time to dress up these bags, and I did that by adding colorful fringe cut using the scalloped Fringe Borders dies from The Stamp Market!

These fringe borders added gorgeous color and texture to the front of the bags using Color Crush cardstock by The Stamp Market, and still made it easy to top with extra embellishment!

To top the colorful scallops, I cut two vellum hearts using the Elle’s Studio My Heart metal dies and sewed them together using white thread for even more texture. Using the Gorgeous Greetings stamp and coordinating Gorgeous Greetings dies, I added a colorful sentiment to my hearts, adhering them with foam adhesive from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.

The final addition to my bags were Color Crush enamel dots from The Stamp Market, added to their coordinating sections of fringe, as well as ribbon handles to coordinate with the blush pink of my scallops, which I threaded through punched holes. Now these sweet bags were ready to stuff with thoughtful goodies to spoil my girlfriends!

These bags may seem small, but they are the perfect size to fill with gift cards, small hand lotions, lip glosses, hand sanitizers, chocolate squares or other tiny treats to spoil your friends! Watch me create these treat bags in my process video so that you can see how easily they come together:
