Hello crafty friends! It’s Virginia Nebel joining in on the celebration to wish Scrapbook & Cards Today a wonderful and happy 18th Birthday! Congratulations to Catherine and Jack for bringing so much joy and community to our crafting world over the years!
Supplies | Spellbinders: Dies, stamps; Creative Memories This Life collection: Paper pack, stickers, embellishments; Scrapbook Adhesvies by 3L: Tape runner, foam adhesive
Here is a crafty project that I created with fun Spellbinders dies from their Crafty Advent Calendar and a bright paper collection, This Life, by Creative Memories! I used an embroidery hoop to frame my project which gives it a sturdy structure for you to display or hang it as a whimsical decor piece.
You can also use this idea to showcase photos! Just swap out the birthday-themed embellishments for a few photos instead.
I love the look of stitching on my projects and added zig-zag stitches with my sewing machine. Tip: try using embroidery thread (the type used in embroidery sewing machines), it is a slightly heavier weight with a tiny hint of shine.
Thanks for dropping by the blog, have a wonderful, crafty day!

Somewhere warm…a cruise or all inclusive resort in the Caribbean would be wonderful!
I would love to celebrate my birthday in Spain!
I would love to have my birthday celebration in France. So much history there.
Since my bday is by Christmas I would love to be in a cabin with family and snow. Or a resort that has festivities.
I would love to celebrate either in a sunny, tropical location by the ocean or in Ireland. Very different, I know. :)
The embroidery hoop is such a fun backdrop for this whimsical project. I’ve love to spend my next birthday at a beach on the Pacific Ocean.
To be on a warm beach somewhere in January sounds lovely, but since I am a homebody at heart, celebrating at home with my hubby and puppies is just fine by me! Thanks for the opportunity to win these lovely prizes!
My favourite birthday destination was actually a few years back when I celebrated in New Zealand. Thanks Virginia for such a cute idea and thanks for the awesome prizes offered up
Virginia, this is stunning! I love your creativity! I would love to celebrate my next birthday in Puerto Vallarta!
Love, love, love this!!! Thank you for the inspiration. I have the advent calendar and really need to bring it back out and use it.
I don’t have specific plans for my bday this year. I would love to take another cruise. A short one just to get away! I love the project Virginia created with the spellbinders advent calendar! Sparks for me! I love her stitching detail! Happy Birthday week SCT!
The best birthdays are spent at home with family and friends. But a close 2nd would be a sunny beach in the tropics (lol).
I would LOVE to celebrate a birthday down in the Gatlinburg, TN area…I love the Smokies!
I would love to have my birthday in Kauai’i, if I could have family with me to celebrate. Since I know that won’t happen, I would still be very content if they would all come to visit us in Arizona and we could celebrate in Sedona.
Would love to explore Scotland again for my birthday, but would be just as happy hanging out up north with my family.
A visit to see my mom and high school friends. Great prizes! Congratulations on 18 years.
I would love to celebrate my birthday in Norway! I would like to see the Northern Lights.
My husband and I are embarking on a 3 month cruise to the South Pacific including New Zealand and Australia. We will be between Tahiti and American Samoa on my next Birthday. It will be weird celebrating with 2000 strangers.
It wouldn’t matter the location as long as my children where able to be with me to celebrate my birthday.
A lovely project. I would like to go anywhere really for my birthday. I love traveling and adventures.
Hawaii. Want to go back as it had been 15 years.
My ideal location for a birthday celebration is relaxing outside by my pool with family and friends.
my favorite rented townhouse on the shores of Lake Superior, it has a fireplace and great views of the lake, and allows me to work on my crafting and I can walk across the street to a delightful restaurant for meals.
Very creative project today. A river cruise in Europe would be my ideal birthday celebration location.
What a cute creation!
I would love to be on a European cruise. I’ve never been to Europe and I love cruises.
Oh I love the embroidery hoop idea with paper!
Home! My birthday is a few days before Christmas so I like the break from the hustle and bustle. So home with a movie and popcorn night while is snows outside 😍
Interesting question, since my birthday is in January and I probably have to teach, just having a few days off at home with either my close family and some time to just relax. Of course, I would love someone to come in and clean the house and then cater the meals for those few days
My ideal birthday celebration would be with my husband, our dog, and our great friends, camping in the woods!
Fabulous prizes, thanks for the chance to win! My ideal birthday celebration would be at a tropical beach resort.
I would love to celebrate my next birthday on the beautiful central coast of California, my favorite place in the world.

Obviously this won’t be an original answer because great minds think alike, lol, but a beach retreat surrounded by family seems pretty ideal for my birthday celebration.
Birthday location: Hawaii. Niagra Falls is a close second but I’ve already been there. If I lived there, I’d stare at the Falls all day!
My ideal BD location is with my husband and son. However, I’d never say no to France:)
I want to go to the beach so I would be happy to use my birthday as an excuse to go.
