I am not much of a baker but my kids are so I become the sous chef while they create their yummy treats. Sugar cookies are definitely one of the favourite things to bake and decorate.
Pecan pie at Thanksgiving my grandmother and I would make our own pies, that was a cherished memory and a great pie. I still have that pie every Thanksgiving!.

Doodlebug Design has the cutest designs. This one is no exception. I’ve been doing more baking since we’ve had so many snow days lately. I just tried out a new icing recipe that was divine on the heart cake my son baked for Valentine’s Day. I’ve also recently tried a new cinnamon buns recipe that is fairly easy but my family just loves!! They are so delicious. And I’ve finally found a really good soft pretzel recipe that is a real family pleaser as well. My next attempt is with a bagels recipe I’ve found.

My daughter has recently been learning to cook and bake (and doing a fantastic job, too!), and this collection would be perfect for me (and her! she scrapbooks, too!) to document her progress. My favorite baked treat is a delicious chocolate chip cookie recipe made by a bed & breakfast proprietor in Holland, MI. My husband and I stayed there for our 3rd anniversary (right after I turned in my PhD dissertation!!) and it was a wonderful vacation– and she was kind enough to share the recipe with us. Husband makes them for me, and it is always such a treat…and a reminder of that dreamy getaway.
