Hello friends! It’s Victoria and I am back with a card project for the Scrapbook and Cards Today 10 Most Wanted series! Today, I am using the Lawn Fawn Build-A-Barrell Apple Die Set, one of our 10 most wanted products from the Fall 2022 Issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today to create two fall-inspired cards. These festive cards were so much fun to create! Who doesn’t enjoy a barrel of tiny apples? Let’s take a closer look at today’s projects.

Supplies | Build-A-Barrell: Apple Die Set, Large Stitched 4 Bar Rectangles Die: Lawn Fawn; Stitched Slopes and Hills Die: Simon Says Stamp; Diagonal Stripes Slimline Embossing Folder, Fall Greetings by Nicole Sphor Acrylic Stamp Set: Spellbinders; Distress Oxide Ink – Broken China, Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber: Tim Holtz for Ranger Ink; Dye Ink – Red Royal, Bubble Gum: Hero Arts; Premium Cardstock – White: Catherine Pooler; Solid cardstock: Cardstock Warehouse; Solid Cardstock – Neutral: Joann Parklane Paperie; Gelly Roll Pen – White: Sakura; Liquid Glue: Bearly Art; Permanent Adhesive: Tombow Mono

To begin, I used the Lawn Fawn Build-A-Barrell: Apples Die Set along with red, green, tan, and brown cardstock to cut the barrels, apples, stems, and leaves. Once the images were cut, I added a bit of texture by inking the edges of the apples, leaves, and barrels with Tim Holtz Distress Ink and Hero Arts Dye Ink. I focused on using colors that were slightly darker than the solid cardstock for added depth.

Once all of the images were cut, I assembled the die cut pieces by adding leaves and stems to the apples, and the trim piece to the barrels. Additionally, I used the bow die from the set to die cut two bows from red gingham cardstock. The bows will be used to accent the apple barrels.

For the first project, I cut a piece of Catherine Pool premium cardstock to 4.25 x 5.5-inches and created an inked background using Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Broken China, Spiced Marmalade, and Fossilized Amber, and a blender brush. Next, I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Slope and Hills die set to create two hills from green cardstock and positioned them on the card panel using dimensional adhesive.

Once the hills were in place, I positioned a barrel slightly behind the hill slope. To the barrel, I stacked several of the apple die cuts, with a few resting on the left side of the barrel as shown. For added interest, I used dimensional foam to pop up the barrel and the apples.

To complete this project, I stamped the “autumn blessings” and “fall is the best season of all” greetings from the Spellbinders Fall Greetings Stamp Set using Catherine Pooler Icing on the Cake Premium Dye Ink. Lastly, I added the red gingham bow to the barrel and adhered the panel to an A2 card base.

For the last project, I created a 3.5 x 8.5-inch slimline card base using Catherine Pooler premium cardstock and the Spellbinders Diagonal Stripes Slimline Embossing Folder. Next, I adhered two barrels to the left side of the panel, positioning one barrel at an angle to give the illusion that it is tipping over. To the barrels, I stacked several of the apple die cuts and positioned a few of the apples on the outside of the barrels.

To complete this project, I stamped the “autumn blessings” greeting from the Spellbinders Fall Greetings Stamp Set on a piece of white cardstock. Next, I trimmed the greeting using a rectangle die from the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched 4 Bar Rectangles Die Set and positioned it at the top right of the card panel using dimensional foam. Lastly, the panel was adhered to a 3.5 x 8.5-inch slimline card base.

I absolutely loved using the Lawn Fawn Build-A-Barrell: Apple Die Set to create these super cute fall-inspired cards. This die set can be used in a variety of ways to make stunning projects for all occasions—the creative possibilities are endless!
