Are you ready to step into Creative Team member Dilay Nacar’s creative space? It’s as bright and clean as her card designs! Even if you create in a completely different type of space, we think you’ll gain great ideas for your own organization, and a lot of eye candy, too! Let’s take a look!

Hello, crafty friends! It’s Dilay here and today I’ll be giving you all a look into my happy space: my craft room! I currently live in Marina del Rey, California with my hubby and fur babies, and I am so grateful to have this space in our home. I’m originally from Boston, so being far away from family and friends it was important for me to have my little oasis to go to when feeling extra homesick or when I just want to get crafty!

As I was setting up my workroom, I envisioned a clean space that was functional but still cozy and fun. I purchased most of my furniture online, but also love a good thrift find and am always on the lookout for items that I can use in my space. Without further ado, let’s take a look!

First up, the star of the show: my craft table! Since I would be doing the majority of my work here, I placed this in the center of the room and designed the rest of the layout around it. My table is 60” x 30”, so it’s large enough to lay out all of my supplies, yet accessible and functional. I prefer to stand while crafting so I opted for a taller table.

On top of the table are my magnetic glass mat and Boon organizer with all of my most-used tools. The drawers open from both ends and I store all of my Mistis, cutting plates, sticky mats, and measuring tools there. Below the drawers are open cubes and here you will see my ink-blending brushes, adhesives, a stencil holder, and larger ink pads. At the bottom, I put baskets in the cubes and there I store my ink cubes, heating tools, embellishments, cleaning supplies, paper pads, and more adhesives!

Next up is the storage cube shelf directly behind the table. I purchased this at Target and I can’t recommend it enough! This unit is where I mainly store things that I like to have within reach (like my Sizzix Big Shot Switch and my cardstock) and also have bins below with backup supplies, more cardstock, and re-inkers. On top of the shelf, I have a stadium organizer from Totally Tiffany where I put all of my current projects/new releases that I am working on. I keep them separated in pouches so that they stay organized and I can stay on track.

If you’re like me and need a cart for everything, these rolling carts from Michael’s are the best! They’re practical, sturdy, and super affordable (especially if you wait for a sale or coupon!) I have two small carts where I store all of my alcohol ink and embossing supplies, and two large carts that hold most of my coloring mediums, hot foil supplies, and all of my unfinished cards/panels. On the large cart next to my foil machine, I have a binder containing all of my ink and cardstock swatches.

On the wall next to my table is an Organize More ink holder (I love these!) where I keep some of my most used inks. Next to that is happy mail from some of my favorite crafty friends, a picture of my baby boy, and all of my Ranger Distress Ink pins. Directly below that is my Ikea drawer which stores all of my scoring boards, specialty papers, paper cutters, laminator, and more ink pads – and on top of it, I keep my Rotatrim paper cutter. Because I love a pop of rainbow in a white space, I found these rainbow drawers to organize and store all of my colored cardstock scraps.

The tall cabinet is from Ikea and fits nicely into the corner of the room. This is where I keep all of my dies and stamps sorted in clear fridge bins and storage pockets. On the other side is my rotating card stand which I use to place my newly finished cards in – and as a bonus, it’s a fun way to let visitors pick out a card!

Across from my table and next to the window are my desk and bookshelf. I placed the desk next to the window and love to start my day here with some coffee and the heat of the morning sun! Next to my desk is where I keep my printers, paper, label maker, and organizational supplies. I chose a small desk without drawers and a simple bookshelf to avoid any clutter.

Well, that’s my craft room! I should mention that although it looks clean and organized in these pictures, it sure isn’t like that all of the time! I’m a messy crafter and it usually takes me more time to clean up than it does to make a card, but I don’t mind the beautiful mess! I hope that you’ve enjoyed looking around and getting a glimpse into my happy place!
