Hello everyone! This is Victoria with you today! Mother’s Day is right around the corner and now is a great time to honor the mother and mother figures in our lives by documenting shared memories and experiences! I did that with a 12 x 12-inch scrapbook layout featuring the Cosette collection by Close To My Heart.

Supplies | Close To My Heart: Cosette Coordinating Solid Cardstock, Cosette Die Cuts, Cosette Picture My Life Cards, Cosette Stamp and Thin CutsDaisy Meadows Stamp and Thin Cuts, Intense Black Ink, Blue Belle Ink; Scrapbook.com: Foam Adhesive; Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L: Adhesives Squares; Tim Holtz: Black Soot Distress Ink

For this project, I want to honor my mother, Carolyn Reese, and the sacrifices she made as a single parent and as a mother figure to my younger cousin. Words cannot begin to express how grateful I am to have a mother who gave up so much to ensure that my brother, cousin, and I had what we needed to succeed. And still, to this day, she continues to be my rock and my soft place to land. I dedicate this project to my mother, the best friend a girl could ever have!

To begin, I created a 12 x 12-inch background using lavender solid cardstock from the Cosette coordinating cardstock pack, along with a butterfly stamp from the Cosette stamp and Thin Cuts set. Using CTMH Blue Belle ink, I created a repetitive stamp pattern as shown. Next, to the stamped background, I adhered an 11 x 11-inch piece of solid blue cardstock and a 10.5 x 10.5-inch piece of white cardstock to complete the background. For added interest, I distressed the edges of the blue cardstock and I used a scalloped punch to add a decorative edge to the white cardstock. I also created black sprinkles by mixing water with Black Soot Distress Ink by Tim Holtz for Ranger. I applied the ink in a diagonal fashion from the top left to the bottom right of the layout.

Next, I layered two 4 x 6-inch pocket cards from the Cosette Picture My Life card set to create an anchor for my 4 x 6-inch photo. I also made a tag using a 3 x 4-inch pocket card from the set. To the layered anchor, I positioned and adhered my photo using foam adhesive. To create the title, I used the Cosette stamp and Thin Cuts set and CTMH Intense Black Ink to stamp Your Story under the photo layer.

Once the background and title were in place, I made three layered floral clusters using the CTMH Daisy Meadows stamp and Thin Cuts set and positioned the clusters around the photo. I love how striking the black-and-white elements look on this layout!

Next, I fussy cut a typewriter and a layered banner from a Cosette Picture My Life pocket card and glued it to the bottom right of the photo. For added dimension and interest, I adhered die cut butterflies from the Cosette die cuts to each cluster using foam squares. And with that, this 12 x 12-inch layout was complete!

As you can see, you don’t need much to create a stunning layout! With just a few basic supplies and stamps, you can create a beautiful scrapbook layout worthy of honoring your mother or the mother figure in your life!
