Hello, SCT friends! I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend! It’s Meghann Andrew with you today to share a recap of all of the amazing content and creating that our Scrapbook 101 attendees shared this year in our exclusive class Facebook group!

Each month in Scrapbook 101, our year-long, self-paced class, we took a deep dive into a topic on scrapbooking, and I’m excited to share what our attendees created with all of this information!

January

In January, we started off the class with a lesson on design and discovered how the principles of design can help us to create beautiful pages! Judy created this lovely page using a go-to layout design shared by Meghann:

Frances was inspired by January’s guest contributor Raquel Bowman to create this gorgeous page focusing on a wreath design!

February

February’s lesson focused on our most loved photos, and how to take beautiful ones and make them front and center on our pages! I shared a fun digital template with the class, and Marina used it to create a wonderful 2020 wrap-up layout:

We also loved how Laurie reminded us of the importance of getting ourselves in our album with this selfie page!

March

Colour was what our March lesson was all about, and we learned how to combine colours in new ways, and use them to highlight our photos! Aurelie’s layout shows us how successful a complementary colour scheme that she took straight from her chosen patterned paper can be on this page:

Tamara gives us a great example of using your photos to inspire a colour scheme here:

April

Have a plentiful amount of patterned paper? Our April lesson shared ways on how to use it creatively! We love that Patti used the lesson to inspire her to back an exclusive cut file from Paige Evans on this page:

Celeste shows us here how much you can do with fussy-cut patterned paper on this beautiful page:

May

May was one of my favourite months because of the topic of titles! We discussed how to come up with an interesting title to introduce our story and make it beautiful by combining different products to create it! I loved Anne-Liesse’s layout title that makes me want to know more about the story!

Lorraine came up with a perfect title for this wedding-themed layout, and we just love the beautiful design, too!

June

If you struggle with journaling on your pages, June’s lesson is perfect for you! We shared different ways to incorporate journaling on your pages, and our guest contributor, Jess Forster, shared some fabulous story starters with us. “I want to remember” is one of my favorite journaling prompts, and Susannah used it beautifully here:

Lynn Darda also used the same prompt in a different way to record a fun trip on a colorful page:

July

If you have a lot of embellishments in your stash, in July we learned how to use them successfully on a page, and knowing how much to add is one of the most important aspects! I think that Tarrah McLean nailed the embellishments on this page:

Nicki’s gorgeous page created with this month’s lesson reminds us that sometimes you have to create your own one-of-a-kind embellishments to make your page absolutely perfect!

August

Sometimes we need a little “push” to get creative, and other projects, sketches, mood boards, and cut files can spark wonderful layouts that we can make our own! Valerie did that here using a fantastic cut file from Paige Evans from our Spring 2021 issue!

Mary Russel shared how she flipped a sketch to create a fantastic double-page layout that fit so many photos!

September

In September, we returned to design, delving deeper into using lines, shapes, repetition, and rhythm on our pages. Beth Ann created a beautiful layout here that showed us the use of all of these:

And Jenny was inspired by an exclusive layout that I shared with the class this month to create this awesome school-themed page:

October

Stamping was the focus of October’s layout and using stamps for title, embellishments, and more can add SO much to your pages! Carolyn shows us this here with beautiful stamped butterflies that coordinate perfectly with her patterned paper:

Becky also showed us how you can stamp a title and embellishments to coordinate, and used some awesome stamping techniques taught by contributor Patricia Roebuck, too!

November

If you’re overwhelmed by the thought of incorporating mixed media into your projects, November’s lesson will make you excited to give it a try! Laura Toreillo did, and used stencils, ink, and paint on this page:

Angela scrap-lifted my exclusive layout to give stencils and foils a try on her layout to create such a wonderful page!

December

For our final month, we brought everything we had learned together to discuss sharing our pages with others and establishing our own style—something that comes from creating and trying new things over time!

…………………………………..

I’m so proud of how our attendees have contributed to the inspiration available in this class, and have created so many beautiful layouts for each month! But, the learning, inspiration, and ideas don’t end this month! This class is self-paced and can be accessed at any time! You can start right now HERE. Plus, our Facebook Group remains open for our attendees to share anything they create based on the 12 lessons from this class. Cheers, friends!
