Hello, friends! It’s Meghann with you today and at the end of the year, I get a bit sentimental. Although we’ve dealt with a lot of real-life issues this year, there is something special about seeing all of the best moments of the year in one place. Another thing happens to me at the end of the year: I want to use up my stash so that I can start fresh in the new year, and my 2021 SCT Sampler remnants were calling out to me to create! I combined both of these to create a sweet tag mini album that records the highlights of my daughter’s year!
Supplies | SCT Samplers from January-November 2021; Metal Die, label stickers: Elle’s Studio; Adhesive: Therm O Web, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L
The patterned papers and embellishments in each SCT Sampler are perfect for creating anything—from cards to scrapbook layouts, but if you have a few Samplers that are in need of some attention, combine them together to multiply the fun and creative possibilities! Take a look at the tags in my mini album as proof of that!
Although each Sampler includes different collections and products, combining them is easy if you carry common themes throughout your project. First, I coordinated patterned papers on adjoining tags; not necessarily from the same collection, but I tried to coordinate hues from left to right.
I also made sure that I had common elements running through the project, for example, hearts. I used acetate hearts from the January Sampler on one page, foiled heart stickers from the May Sampler on another, and mirrored heart stickers from the September Sampler on yet another page. These repeating shapes added cohesiveness throughout my album.
I added in navy blue label stickers from Elle’s Studio to hold my handwritten journaling on most of the pages. I also loved mixing it up by creating custom embellishments, like this prize ribbon, by piecing together embellishments and paper from different Sampler months.
In this album, I used at least one element from each of the eleven Samplers that I had on hand. You wouldn’t even know that there were so many different collections featured on these pages!
Creating this mini-album also sparked ideas for other creations—cards and layouts that I could use with the remaining bits from my Samplers! I love when one project ignites inspiration for another, don’t you!?
This special mini-album didn’t take long to create, thanks to the SCT Samplers I had on hand, and having all of these best moments documented is such a satisfying feeling. I know my daughter will cherish this little album, and it was so fun to create!
If your SCT Sampler stash is calling out to you, too, I hope today’s post has given you the inspiration to put those monthly packages of sample-sized goodness to use in a project that will bring you happiness at the end of this year! 2022 is just around the corner, and let me just tell you, there are amazing things coming for the next year of your Sampler subscription, friends! Happy creating!

Really great idea!
Did you use a specific metal tag die or use an electric cut file for the tag shapes? Thank you.
Hi Sharon! I used the Elle’s Studio tag die found in this set! I love the large size—perfect for tag albums!

Fun project! Wonderful!
Oh Meghann, your album is adorable! Love how you pulled it all together. Thanks for the inspiration!
Super cute idea!! Thanks for the inspiration!
what fun ideas thanks for sharing
Your tag mini album is such a sweet way to gather up all those little photos and cute leftover embellies and paper scraps and put them to use. This would be cute hung on a little hook or ornament stand to set on a side table or for Grandparent who may not have room to store a large album.
Happy New Year and all the best for 2022! :)
Auntie Em, what great ideas! Having a wall piece that can hang these. For aging parents who no longer have the storage area to keep an album or the wall space for a number of photos, it works beautifully. Thank you!
Do you know if we can purchase past samplers?? I am signed up for 2022, but it’s an April 2022 start…I just don’t want to miss out on Jan – Mar!! ????
Great idea and tag book Meghann – although I have decided to let my subscription lapse for this year – I have lots of leftover to use up . This is a great idea.
Meghann, I love what you’ve done here! Such a fun and easy day project. Giving us tips on how to make it cohesive even though the pieces can be from diverse colours/collections. Thank you for your inspiration as usual. <3
Hi Just starting this project today and wondering what size the pictures are?
