Welcome to our final day of Summer Fun Week here on the blog! Tomorrow we celebrate our Summer 2023 Issue release, but until then, we have one more summer-themed project & blog post to share with you! Let’s hear from Meghann Andrew and check out how she recorded summer adventures in pockets!

Hello there, SCT fans! Aren’t you so excited to download the new, summer issue tomorrow? While we wait, I’m excited to share my latest pocket page with you, created using the May 2023 SCT Sampler! Take a look at the supplies that I worked with:

This Sampler was filled with products from the American Crafts and Vicki Boutin Where to Next collection, as well as the Echo Park Paper Our Story Matters collection, along with an SCT-exclusive metal die! I loved the adventure vibe of the products in the Sampler, so I decided to document an adventurous day we had on vacation in Portugal!

I loved the patterns from the Where to Next collection from Vicki Boutin and American Crafts included in the Sampler, so I focused on the pieces that featured yellow—picking up on the yellow palace in my photos. I also added accent colours from my photos: black, teal, and green.

I always love tag cut-apart sheets, and the three tags that I received in my Sampler were perfect for adding journaling about our day. One of the patterned papers included from the Where to Next collection was filled with icons that were perfect for fussy cutting and adding as embellishments. I did that on this photo with the “stay on path” sign and hiking boot.

The patterned paper selection in this Sampler was just perfect for my photos—the 6 x 6-inch size is perfect for cutting down for pockets, but they can also be layered in a perfect way to create a layout, too!

The exclusive “so wonderful” metal die could be used as a card sentiment, but I loved using it here to add an accent to my 6 x 4-inch photo. I placed the die-cut right at the bottom of the photo, then added a border of patterned paper on either side to help it to stand out. This created the perfect embellishment for this photo!

I used three elements in this 6 x 4″ pocket: a 3 x 4″ photo, a piece of patterned paper, and a tag in the center to hold more journaling. I loved adding the title on the right side using SCT-exclusive alphabet stickers and the word “palace”, which I printed using Photoshop.

In my final pocket, I decided to print my photo at 3 x 4 inches and add patterned paper and embellishments around it. I loved the stickers the Where to Next collection stickers that I received in the Sampler, and the big camera was perfect for adding here on top of the Echo Park plus sign paper.

I loved creating this pocket page, and it came together so quickly using just the supplies in the May 2023 SCT Sampler! Grab this Sampler for yourself today while supplies last, or click below to learn more about starting a subscription! Thanks so much for joining me today, and happy creating!
