April 2024 Free Cut File Fun with Allison Davis

Hello, SCT friends! It’s Allison here with a layout using this month’s new, free cut file designed by Paige Evans. Paige always creates the most fun cut file designs and this one is perfect for highlighting your mom. Here’s a look at the cut file:

I paired this super fun cut file with the new “Just Because” collection from Bella Blvd to document a photo of my mom and I from my 1st birthday:

You can’t see it in the photo, but right next to us is the most epic 1st birthday cake, 3-tiered and absolutely beautiful. One thing I always remember about my childhood and my mom is she always made us amazing and unique birthday cakes.

To create this layout I started off creating a sunburst background with all of the brightly colored patterned papers in the Just Because collection. I also added coordinating stitched lines to add texture and dimension to the background.

The centerpiece of this layout is that “Best Mom Ever” cut file that I cut out of white cardstock and backed with floral paper in each letter. I used the heart in the center to add a photo of my mom and I.

After I had those letters backed I added a chain link stitched border. I always love the detail this adds to cut files and how it really makes those letters stand out.

To finish, I added flower clusters around the opposite corners of the die cut. I used a mix of die cut flowers and butterflies, along with stickers and enamel pieces.
