Hello Scrapbook & Cards Today friends, it’s Becki here to share a layout that I created using the SCT Signature Layered Chevron Die from the Scrapbook & Cards Today shop. This die set is so fun, so easy and SO versatile! I created a 12×12 layout using the Layered Chevron Die and the Poppy & Pear collection from American Crafts.

Supplies | Scrapbook & Cards Today: Layered Chevron Die; American Crafts Poppy & Pear collection: patterned paper, die cuts, stickers, letter stickers, foam stickers; Scrapbook.com: tape runner adhesive; Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L: foam adhesive; Font: American Typewriter

When I start a layout with die cutting, I always reach for the paper pad. In the Poppy & Pear collection, there is a 6 x 8″ paper pad. I started by die cutting LOTS of chevron pieces from 6 x 8″ patterned papers. When I had all of those patterned paper die cuts, I started adhering them to a 6-1/4 x 12” piece of cardstock. There’s no rhyme or reason to where I adhered the patterned paper die cuts. I simply tried to not let a patterned paper touch a die cut made with the same patterned paper.

After I had those die cuts adhered to the cardstock, I adhered this to the patterned paper background of my layout. From there, it was time to add the most important parts of the layout: photo, title, and journaling. There is one photo that accompanies the story that I wanted to tell. I added some patterned paper and die cuts behind the photo to make it stand out from the die cut strip on the background.

To the right of the photo, I added my title and below that, the journaling strips. From there, it was time to have fun with a few embellishments. I always want to make sure that my photo stays the main focus of the layout and is supported by the story. I added a few curated embellishments to finish this layout.

I LOVE how this layout came together! The Layered Chevron Die is so fun and has unlimited options! I cannot wait to see what YOU create with this die. Thank you so much for stopping by the Scrapbook & Cards Today blog!
