Hello, Scrapbook & Cards Today friends! It’s Becki here to share a mini album I created using the Blooming Wild collection and Scrapbook.com exclusive dies. I’m seeing arches everywhere in the paper crafting community right now! It’s such a fun shape that is SO versatile.

Supplies | American Crafts: Blooming Wild collection; Scrapbook.com: Nested Arches Die, Inspirational Life Sentiments die set, Pink Alphabet Stickers, Spellbinders Platinum 6, tape runner adhesive, vellum; Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L: foam adhesive;  pink ribbon, embroidery floss, white crochet thread, sewing machine, white thread

I’ve been looking for an opportunity to create a mini album with the nested arches die set from Scrapbook.com. While I was thinking of a theme for this mini album, I scrolled through my phone. As I scrolled, I found photos of small moments that made me stop, enjoy the sweetness of the moment and take a quick photo. For most of these moments, I only have one photo. Some of them aren’t of great quality. I’m trying to add those stories to my documenting routine even if the quality of the photos isn’t great. The story is priceless to me!

As I started die-cutting patterned paper from the Blooming Wild collection, I decided that instead of keeping the rounded portion of the arch at the top, I decided to shake things up and put the rounded portion at the bottom.

Creating a mini album can be overwhelming at first. One thing I often do to simplify the process is print all of my photos the same size. Having all of my photos the same size eliminated one more step in the process of resizing each photo individually. I also use the same font. Not only does that eliminate many individual decisions. It also creates continuity in the album.

Another way to make the album feel more cohesive is to print (or write) journaling on the same paper. In this album, I chose to print my journaling on vellum. I really wanted the color to shine through on this album!

There are two techniques that I almost always include in my mini albums. Stitching (both hand stitching and machine stitching) and interactive elements. I used both of these techniques in this album. Using these techniques makes this album feel more like “me” and my style.

I had so much fun creating this mini album with the Blooming Wild collection and dies from Scrapbook.com. If you’d like to see the details of this album, I created a video to share with you, and you can watch it below, or click through to watch on the SCT YouTube channel:
