Frame & banner metal dies

Lately, I have been rediscovering my love for metal dies, especially frames or banner dies. For this page, I am using the Essentials Ornate Banner Die set from Pinkfresh Studio. I love the shape of the banner—it is the perfect size for memory keeping, cards and mini albums, and in this case, perfect to create a hanging detail for my page. I used the large die to cut banners from cardstock and patterned paper. The smaller banner die was perfect to create embellishment dies for my page. I created a larger banner so that it can frame the photo of my kids and their cousins together.

Brads & eyelets

There is something about being able to suspend things on paper that has been a recurring theme on my pages lately. This has made me rediscover my love for eyelets, brads, and my Crop-a-Dile. I used the banner die cuts to create a bunting for my page and the Crop-a-Dile to create the holes and set the eyelets at the top corners of the banner die cuts. This gave the page texture, and a cleaner look. Once I threaded twine through the banners, I used the brads as a way to secure the banner to the page. I just love the texture and look it adds!

Obed Marshall’s ESPECIAL collection for American Crafts

I have a soft spot for all of Obed’s collections. His new ESPECIAL collection is just a beautiful mix of vibrant color, modern and classic designs, lots of embellishments and textures, but most importantly with sentiments and words in Spanish—my first language! I used patterned paper to frame the page and create the banner pieces. There are so many embellishments in his collection that it was so easy to mix and match for this page!

I hope my latest obsessions give you ideas for your own projects! There is magic to be made when you mix essential dies with classic tools and a new collection. Let me know what you are loving lately in a comment!
