Hey there, SCT friends! It’s Dilay Nacar here, and I’m thrilled to share a special card that I made using gorgeous new products from Altenew. Crafting a handmade sympathy card isn’t just about expressing condolences, it’s about offering comfort and showing just how much you care. I’m a big fan of Altenew’s Craft-A-Flower die sets, and the Stargazer Lily set was just perfect for this card that uses lots of white with pops of green and a hint of orange.

Supplies | Altenew: Craft-A-Flower: Stargazer Lily Die Set, Picture Frame Die Set, Tufted Elegance 3D Embossing Folder, Sentiment Strips 1 Stamp Set, Metallic Watercolor 14 Pan Set (Gold), Zesty Limes 6 Crisp Dye Ink Mini Cube Set, Crisp Dye Ink: Autumn Blaze, Obsidian Black Pigment Ink; Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L: 3D Foam Squares; Scrapbook.com: Perfectly Clear Clue; Scrapbook & Cards Today: White Cardstock

To start, I created the backdrop by die-cutting the smaller of the two Picture Frame dies and adhering it to the center of a top-folding card base. Next, I splattered gold watercolor onto half a sheet of white cardstock and cut a 4 x 3” rectangle, and adhered that to the center of the frame, setting the remainder aside to use later on. I then cut a piece of white cardstock to 2.75” x 3” and embossed it with the Tufted Elegance 3D embossing folder and adhered that to the center of the card using Scrapbook Adhesives Thin Foam Squares.

Now onto the lilies! Although these may look difficult, Altenew makes it a breeze – the guides are easy to follow and make it quick to assemble! First, using white cardstock, I die-cut each of the pieces that are included in the Craft-A-Flower Stargazer Lily die set. I then blended each of the leaves with three shades of green (light, medium, and dark) and blended the flower centers using the same greens along with some orange. I added the dots using an orange alcohol marker and then adhered each of the layers together. Once dry, I adhered them to the card using thin foam adhesive.

Next, I used the piece of gold-splattered white cardstock that I previously set aside to die-cut the leaves in the Picture Frames die set, and, to add dimension and texture, I tucked the leaves in around the lilies. For the sentiment, I stamped ‘with deepest sympathy’ from the Sentiment Stripes 1 stamp set using black ink!

Thank you so much for stopping today. I hope you like my sympathy card and are inspired to create something, too!
