We are so excited to introduce you to a new, bilingual collaboration collection from American Crafts and Obed Marshall today, “Buenos Días”! This wonderful collection is just too colorful for words, but here is a quick description of what you’ll find in it from our friends at American Crafts:

Say hello to a brand new day with “Buenos Días” by Obed Marshall! This vibrant, fresh collection is filled with fun and familiar phrases and illustrations that are perfect for documenting those day-to-day moments. Light hues of green, blue, and yellow pop against accents in gold, orange, and dark blue that compliment adorable icons. And everything from cereal bowls and retro American cars to stylish European patterns of mosaics and tiles, make this contemporary bilingual collection practically “perfecto”!

We are equally as excited about our guest today, Obed Marshall himself! Let’s see what fantastic project Obed has to share with us, using his debut collection!

Hi everyone! I’m Obed Marshall, a passionate crafter, and lover of all art-related things. I live in the Northwest corner of Spain in a small, beautiful city called Lugo. I’m thrilled to be on the SCT blog, thank you for having me! Today I’ll be showing you a special project and a few inside details on my debut collection with American Crafts “¡Buenos Días!”. 

Can you think of a project perfect for any type of occasion from birthdays to documenting a special trip? I’ve got you covered: an explosion box for the win! I created mine with the We R Memory Keepers Explosion Punch Board, which is so easy and fun to use!

My explosion box has three inside layers and numerous pockets and spaces for photos, memory keeping, or anything you’d like. The instructions are super easy to follow and they come with the board. I used patterned papers, ephemera, and stickers from my ¡Buenos Días! collection with American Crafts.

The collection has just released and is arriving in stores worldwide. It is the first bilingual Spanish and English paper collection that American Crafts has introduced and I’m very honored to have been able to partner with them to create it. ¡Buenos Días! is inspired by European cities mixed with a retro American feel. 

I’m very happy that this collection can serve as a beacon of representation in the Spanish-speaking crafting community, but I hope you feel inspired to create with my collection, even if you only speak English. I love how connected the crafting community is—we are all from different countries and may even speak different languages, but we are united by crafting! That is the essence of ¡Buenos Días! Thank you for your support!

Obed Marshall lives in Lugo, Galicia, Spain, and is a paper crafter and artist with an eye for bright colors. He loves to inspire people with his bold, fun projects. He’s an English teacher in his free time (which he has practically none of!) and has recently partnered with American Crafts to debut his new collection, Buenos Días, a collection featuring familiar phrases and words in both English and Spanish. 

Obed’s love of art and scrapbooking came at an early age. He started attending art classes at the age of 8 and hasn’t put down a paintbrush since! Shortly after that, his mother introduced him to washi tape, and his passion for all things creative took off. He started making scrapbook layouts, handmade cards, DIYs, albums, and so much more, and now die cuts, embellishments, and papers fill his home! Obed defines his style as a unique blend of scrapbooking and DIY, and hopes to inspire all those who see his projects to create something colorful and fun for themselves!
