Hello SCT friends and Happy Holidays! It’s Wendy Sue here today, sharing a really fun, and really easy, gift that you can share with friends and neighbors this holiday season!
Everyone loves a nice warm cup of hot cocoa on a cold winter day, so this gift is sure to please anyone who is lucky enough to receive it from you! The best part is that it’s so easy, you can make dozens in an afternoon, and the kids can help too!
Start by creating the cute little cups using a Lori Whitlock cut file from the Silhouette Store and festive holiday paper from Echo Park Paper’s A Gingerbread Christmas.
To embellish the cup, I used a fun label and puffy stickers, both from A Gingerbread Christmas and the Christmas Boughs by Echo Park Paper.
To create tags to tie onto the hot cocoa mix, I used the A Gingerbread Christmas digital kit. Since the recipient will need to actually make the hot chocolate, we need to add instructions to one of the tags. I love being able to personalize coordinating pieces to add to my paper crafts, and digital kits are a great way to do this! I embellished the tag with some stickers too.
Next, I headed to the kitchen to put together several bags of the yummiest homemade hot cocoa mix! Here’s the recipe if you’d like to make your own (or you could easily repackage store-bought mix as well):
Ingredients:
- 2 cups Powdered Milk
- 1 cup Hershey’s Cocoa
- 2 cups Powdered Sugar
- 1 cup Powdered Coffee Mate Creamer
- Pinch of Salt
Instructions:
- Mix together all ingredients until well combined.
- Spoon into plastic bags.
- Secure closed with a twist tie – add tags and ribbons!
Tie the tags to the bags of hot cocoa and place inside the cute paper cup.
