Welcome to day three of our Spring Issue Challenge Week! We hope that days one and two have inspired you to carve out a bit of time for yourself to create with us this week! If not, we think that today’s colour challenge with Erica Thompson will spark your creativity! Let’s take a look!

Hello friends! It’s Erica here with you today to share a color inspiration challenge! Using a color scheme like this is a great way to get started on a project!

To begin my 12 x 12 inch scrapbook layout I pulled products from Pinkfresh Studio and Echo Park Paper to create a fun spring page!

I started with a new cut file from Jennifer Edwardson and backed it with papers from the Keeping It Real collection from Pinkfresh Studio. This collection has great greens and blues that went perfectly with the color inspiration photo. I popped the cut file up on foam adhesive and placed it towards the bottom of my layout. My white cardstock base has been trimmed down to 11 x 11 inches so that I could have a nice, thick border helping the layout pop even more with color.

The Keeping It Real collection is not spring-themed, but pulling certain colors and mixing in elements from an Easter-themed collection like My Favorite Easter from Echo Park Paper makes it work. I love thinking outside the box with collections and using them in new ways!

I made sure to add in spring images, like the super cute bunnies and baby chick, and I added floral clusters to create a visual triangle so your eye moves around the whole layout. The layout needed a bit of texture, so I added in puffy heart stickers to add to the center of a couple of the letters and sprinkled enamel dots around the page.

My photos are printed in black and white, so they do not clash with the colors in my layout. I kept my journaling hidden on a tag tucked behind one of the photos, and tied it with a twine bow. I love how this layout turned out and I can’t wait to see what you create with this color scheme!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, and I hope you all have a wonderful day!
