Hello friends! This is Victoria and today, I am sharing a 12 x 12-inch scrapbook layout featuring a fun cut file called Best Father Ever by Paige Evans along with beautiful products from LDRS Creative. First, let’s take a look at the free cut file!

Download this month’s FREE cut file HERE!

This project is super easy to make and is perfect for documenting the fathers or father-figures in your life.

Supplies | Best Father Ever Cut File; LDRS Creative Lovely Watercolor  collection: 12 x 12 paper pack, 6×6 paper pack, ephemera, enamel dots; Cardstock: Scrapbook Warehouse; Adhesive: Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

My father-figure has always been my older brother, Love. Yep, that’s right… his name is Love!  Even though we are 15 years apart, we are very close and I have always looked to him for guidance and support. He is a terrific big brother, an awesome dad to his adult children, and he just became a grandfather this month! Most of my Father’s Day projects are about him and how he has made such an impact on my life. It only seems fitting to carry on this tradition in celebration of Father’s Day!

To begin this project, I started by resizing and cutting the Best Father Ever cut file using my Cricut Explore Air 2 electronic cutting machine. For this, I used navy blue cardstock from my stash. Once cut, I used patterned paper from the LDRS Creative Lovely Watercolor 6×6 paper pack to back each letter featured on the cut file. I chose cool shades from the paper pad: blue, green, and purple. The watercolor design adds lightness to the layout and provides the perfect subtle touch.

After all of the patterned paper pieces were in place using liquid glue, I backed the entire cut file with foam adhesive for added dimension and interest, and attached the cut file to a piece of patterned paper from the LDRS Creative Lovely Watercolor 12 x 12 paper pack.

Once the cut file was in place, I added two 3 x 3-inch photos to the top of the cut file, followed by a banner that reads “Forever and Always“. Next, I adhered two floral die cuts from the Lovely Watercolor ephemera to both sides of the photos.

To add more interest to the cut file, I positioned two floral and one bee die cut directly on the cut file using foam adhesive. These elements add a bit of whimsy and dimension to the cut file. Next, I positioned a scalloped circle die cut to the middle left and right side of the layout to add balance and interest.

To complete this project, I printed a journaling block onto vellum cardstock and placed it under the cut file. Lastly, a few enamel dots from the Lovely Watercolor Collection were added to the popped-up die cuts on the cut file. And with that, this project is complete!

I hope you are inspired to try the FREE Best Father Ever cut file for your next project! Using a cut file is a great way to add tons of interest and impact to a scrapbook project. Thanks so much for stopping by!
