Happy first Monday of February! I hope you are feeling the LOVE, but if not, you’re in the right place! It’s Valentine’s Week here on the SCT blog!

I recently finished writing the spring issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine, and I’ve been feasting my eyes on spring flowers and Easter celebrations, but today I’m stopping in with some sweet Valentine’s Day inspiration!

The Doodlebug Design Lots of Love collection has stolen my heart! I decided to make 10 super-simple mini cards to hand out and an A2-sized card using the patterned papers and die cut shapes from the collection. It’s a busy time of year when I’m writing the magazine, so I decided to keep things simple, and patterned papers and ephemera are always perfect for quick cuteness with awesome results!

The first set of mini Valentine’s Day cards were created from one 6 x 6 inch piece of patterned paper. I cut the paper in four and rounded each corner, added a strip of aqua cardstock, tied on a twine bow, and added a cute die cut shape popped up on foam tape.

The second set of mini Valentine’s Day cards were created from two 6 x 6 inch pieces of patterned paper. I trimmed six 3 inch square cardstock mats in red, yellow, and aqua. Next I trimmed the patterned paper backgrounds to 2.75 inches square and adhered them to the mats. Finally, I popped up another cute die cut with foam tape on each.

I’m planning on tossing all 10 of these into my purse, and I’ll hand them out to random people. I have one in mind for my favorite post office lady!

Finally, I decided to make a traditional, A2-sized card, because I just LOVED this mailbox, and it wouldn’t fit on one of my smaller cards. And that smiling cloud? I mean. COME ON! Adorable!

We are so happy to have Doodlebug Design as one of our partners! And I’m so happy that you stopped by today. If you love this collection as much as I do, don’t forget to check out last week’s New & Noteworthy post that highlighted Lots of Love, and offered one awesome giveaway, too!

Here’s to a month of sharing love and inspiration!
