Hello, SCT fans! It’s Lisa Dickinson here today to share a layout and issue a design challenge that’s sure to spark your creativity this holiday season! I recently completed a layout using items from the SCT Sampler and wanted to incorporate additional winter elements as well. I found the perfect touches by browsing the bonus cutting files available on the SCT website—it’s an endless library of ideas for any seasonal page!

I began with the January 2019 cut filea simple grid that I cut from white cardstock. It adds a textural backdrop to build my design upon without distracting from the focal points. Then I used the January 2020 cut files to create a festive frame for my photos. The patterned papers in the November SCT Sampler made gorgeous snowflakes to layer on my page!

I topped a few of the snowflakes with die cuts from Spellbinders, and I stamped a small snowflake in between some of my larger cut files using the cute little Hero Arts stamp included in the Sampler. I love these tiny images for adding detail in small spaces.

My title is a combination of an acrylic title and alphabet stickers and coordinates with the soft winter colors in my page. Tiny glue dots, like these from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, are a great way to adhere acrylic pieces.

When you’re planning your next layout design, I challenge you to use one, or many of the bonus cutting files available in the SCT library! We would love to see what you create!
