Welcome to day two of our Twelve Days of Holiday Giving event! Are you working on a daily December album project? If so, today’s post with Nathalie DeSousa will give you great inspiration to kick the cuteness up a notch in your album, as only Doodlebug products can do! Be sure to check out both of today’s giveaways at the end of the post, too!
Hello crafty friends! It’s Nathalie with you today to share some new inspiration for the 12 Days of Christmas celebration. We all love the holiday season, but nothing is better than capturing those little moments in between the hustle and bustle. Today, I want to show you a cute idea for documenting those ordinary moments using Doodlebug Design’s Gingerbread Kisses collection.
Supplies | Doodlebug Design Gingerbread Kisses collection: patterned paper, die cuts, cardstock stickers, puffy stickers; Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L: adhesive; Font: Remington Noiseless; Specialty paper: American Crafts; Citrus Twist Kits: album, page protector
I wanted to bring a touch of cuteness and whimsy to the photos of my baby sleeping under the warmth of the Christmas lights and I thought about interactive elements to keep the page airy and focused.
First, I placed my two 4 x 4-inch photos inside a page protector. In order not to overcrowd the page, I decided to add an interactive element that also serves as a title for the spread. I simply cut a 4 x 6” from the 6 x 6-inch paper pad and created the fold at about 4 1/8” Then I glued the flap to the back of the picture. I added simple embellishments to both sides of the flap (there are so many cute embellishments in Doodlebug Design’s Gingerbread Kisses collection!) so that the page felt well-balanced.
Now, to house my journaling, I decided to use the new House chipboard album from Doodlebug Design to create a pattern for my own “house”. I created it from Petite Print patterns and even gave the windows a clear look with acetate.
I was careful to only add adhesive to the bottom and sides of the house paper shape so that it forms a pocket with the backing paper shape. The large pocket gave me the chance to create a simple tag to house my journaling.
I ensured my tag was wide enough to fit in the “house” and could easily slide in and out. Once I added my journaling, I added just a few extra embellishments to help bring the spread all together. This little house gave me a great starting point for the following story, as I plan to cover the back of the shape with a large picture!
I hope this inspires you to get crafty with the cute Doodlebug Design Gingerbread Kisses collection, and that your holiday season is filled with love and peace!

My grandparents used to work together and make these delicious date filled cookies. The first day, they would make the batter and roll them out and bake them, and the next day, cook up the date filling and stack them together. i have made them a few times now and I add a nice little glaze on top. So good!
