Hello, SCT friends! It’s  Erica here with you today to share a project using the April 2022 SCT Sampler! This month’s Sampler is filled with the sweetest products from Photoplay Paper, Echo Park Paper, Gina K. Designs and an exclusive SCT die and shadow set!

Supplies | April SCT Sampler; Adhesive: Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L; Border die: The Stamp Market; 12 x 12 patterned paper: Doodlebug Design Petite Prints

I knew I wanted to use the colorful papers from the Hop to It collection from Photoplay Paper! I pulled out Stamp Market dies from my stash and die cut a bunch of fringe borders. I also pulled out circle punches to create custom flowers! Paper punches and metal dies are some of my most favorite tools in my stash. They are great for creating your own embellishments and help stretch out a kit!

I trimmed down a piece of white textured cardstock to 8 x 10.25 inches and matted it onto a piece of Doodlebug Design Petite Prints in Bubblegum sized at 8.50 x 11. To give the die cut fringe borders a little more texture, I used my fingers to bend up each scallop so they would curl up once adhered to the page.

I started adhering the fringe borders at the bottom center of the page and worked my way up to about the center of the layout. My photos are sized at 2.50×2.50 and placed in the center of the page on some foam adhesive. This size of photo works great for the 8.50×11 layout I created.

The Photoplay papers had some good elements that I could fussy cut to use as embellishments for my layout. I love papers that have larger elements to cut out to create my own embellishments! If you are on a budget, this is a great way to save some money! One sheet of 12 x 12 inch paper cost around $1.10 and a lot of collections include large floral patterns or images that are large enough to fussy cut. Another fun way to add florals to your page is to do what I did and use circle punches! I used two different punches to create flowers. Once they were punched out, I distressed them and roughed them up a bit to give them texture. I layered them up and put one of the enamel dots from the April Sampler in the center!

For my title, I used the exclusive SCT Lovely metal die included in the Sampler! I cut it out of using one of the Hop to It papers from Photoplay, placed it at the top of my photos and popped up one of my fussy cut images next to it! I just love how this layout turned out!

I hope you enjoyed this layout created with the April Sampler! Don’t forget to share your projects using the Sampler with us by tagging @sctmagazine and using the #SCTsampler hashtag!
