Hello SCT fans! It’s Lisa Dickinson here today and I wanted to share a layout I made using the latest SCT Delivered scrapbook kit, Let It Snow. You might not think a winter-themed kit would work for a vacation layout, but the variety of patterns and colors in this collection can go way beyond the winter!
Supplies | From the Let It Snow by SCT Delivered Kit: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; patterned paper: Carta Bella, Crate Paper, Pink Paislee; alphabet: American Crafts; stickers: Pink Paislee, Crate Paper; tag: Crate Paper; gems: Jolee’s; twine. Other supplies | Die-cut machine: Silhouette.
I began this page design with a background cut file, a cluster of hearts, that’s available in my etsy store. Pulling colors from my photos (navy, yellow and red), I chose several patterned papers to fill each of the hearts. The primary colors of red, yellow and blue, (with a touch of pink and green thrown in!) were a perfect combination for a fun, colorful layout.
To add texture and interest to my cut file, I selected several small strip stickers and placed them inside many of the hearts, color-coordinating them with the patterned paper. They are a subtle way to reinforce the theme of your page and add little details that keep the eye moving through the design.
The title is a combo of alphabet stickers and a die cut in contrasting fonts. I love mixing a loopy script with a stable, bold sans serif font—they just play well together! This script is called Outlander and it’s a free download that’s great for die-cutting!
Both this cut file and the SCT Delivered kit would be great for scrapping the upcoming Valentine’s holiday, as well as any Christmas or winter-themed pages you might have on your scrappy to-do list. Go check out all of our SCT Delivered kits today (and mark your calendar for March 1, when the spring kits will go on sale!)
