Hello, friends! Thanks for starting your week with us today! We are so excited about the release of our Fall 2023 issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine on Friday, but until then, let’s get a dose of fall inspiration each day from our amazing creative team members in We Love Fall Week! We’re starting off with Nathalie Desousa and a freebie from Paige Evans—a great way to kick off this issue release week and your creativity! Let’s go!

Hello, crafty friends! It’s Nathalie with you to kick off our We Love Fall week celebration! Today, I am bringing you a bit of inspiration featuring an exclusive free cut file to help you document all things fall. Remember you can get a copy of the digital cut file by following the link, but let’s take a look at the cut file:

Here is what I have created with the cut file and a mix of Doodlebug Design’s latest collections, Hello Again, and Sweet & Spooky.

Supplies | Cardstock, patterned paper, die cuts, puffy stickers, enamel dots: Doodlebug Design; Adhesive: Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L; Electronic die cutting machine: Silhouette America

I decided to create a large design in my Silhouette Studio software, so that it spanned the entire mat, I cut it twice, one from white cardstock, and the second time from a Woodgrain Petite Print paper from Doodlebug.

Using a selection of papers from the 6×6 paper pad from Hello Again and Sweet & Spooky collection, I backed the empty spaces behind the leaves. All the colors in the leaves are nicely framed by the light wood color outline of the leaves.

I chose a tan colored textured cardstock for my background. Here, I decided to split the large die cut so that it only covered the top left and bottom right corner of the page. This created a focal point in the center of the page, the perfect placement for my photos.

Once I set the pictures in place, I added a few die cuts around the corners of the photos, so that I could add extra sentiments to the page. I repeated the butterfly die cuts at each major embellishment cluster as a way to tie the page together while adding movement to the spread. To accent the colors of the leaves, I added a few enamel dots (of the same color as the respective leaf) around the entire page.

There were lots of color in the leaves die cuts and photos already on the page so I used Gold Alphabet Soup puffy alpha stickers to create my title at the bottom left corner of the pictures. Here, I added a few extra die cut butterflies to complete my page.

I hope this project has inspired you to use the new Falling Leaves cut file in a project of your own. Remember to share what you create with the cut file with us by tagging @sctmagazine on social media!

Happy fall, y’all!
