Hello there, friends! We are so excited about our Fall Issue Challenge Week here on the SCT blog! This week we’re challenging a few of our designers with cut files, colour schemes, sketches, and a mood board. We cannot wait to show you what our team came up with when we gave them a challenge, and we hope each of them inspires you to create—for the chance to win prizes of course! Let’s jump right into today’s first challenge with Jess Forster!

Hello Scrapbook and Cards Today friends! It’s Jess here to share a layout that I created with the new, free Carousal cut file designed by Paige Evans! Take a look:

And here’s the layout that I created using this new freebie:

Supplies | Cut file: SCT Magazine; Paper, enamel dots: Simple Stories Summer Lovin’ collection; Alphabet stickers: Elle’s Studio; Stars: Ali Edwards; Foam adhesive: Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L; Font: Georgia

The first step in my process to create a layout was to cut the file from white cardstock. I then choose patterned paper from the Simple Stories Celebrate! collection, which is full of bright colours and fun patterns. I choose to focus on blue, red and yellow and paired the collection with two, 2 x 3-inch photos from our 2018 trip to Disney World.

I used navy puffy stickers from Elle’s Studio to create the title. I love how the title is at the top of the carousal. Since the cut file did most of the work, I kept the layout simple with minimal embellishments and journaling. I painted my white cardstock with yellow watercolour paint and added white stars from Ali Edwards to add texture.

This layout was so fun to create! I am SO happy with how it came together. Don’t forget to download it so you can get crafty!
