Welcome to the final day of our Fall Issue Challenge Week, friends! Today we’re going to put you in the mood, literally, to create! We have a mood board challenge for you, in all of its autumn glory, and Erica Thompson is here to share some ideas for how to use it! Let’s take a look!

Hello SCT friends! It’s Erica here with you today and I am so excited to be here during challenge week! I have a beautiful fall mood board to share with you today that I hope will inspire you in some way to create:

The colors in the mood board are gorgeous and are what really inspired me to create my layout. I also loved all the fall leaves, so I headed over to the Scrapbook & Cards Today site and found a free fall cut file designed by Paige Evans!

I knew this cut file would look beautiful backed with rich fall colors and I had the perfect papers from Elle’s Studio, along with other coordinating embellishments, too!

Once I backed the free wreath cut file designed by Paige I added foam adhesive from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. This is my favorite foam tape and it gives your projects just enough dimension without being too bulky!

My photo of sweet Georgia was perfect for this layout and also went perfect with the colors in the backed cut file. I used the Elle’s Studio Autumn Die Cuts to create a few clusters around the page and a puffy sticker to create my title.

Elle’s Studio has great chipboard pieces, so I tucked one in under the title piece and then adhered my typed journaling under that.

Creating layered clusters helps add interest and dimension to your pages. I love to tuck in smaller leaves and florals around larger elements and then sprinkle in some smaller puffy or enamel dots to finish up the layout.

I love how this cut file shows off all the beautiful patterned papers and colors. Large circular cut files like this have been my go-to lately and I think they make a big impact on a layout.

Backing cut files can take some time and patience but the end result is so worth it! I challenge you to create a project based of the beautiful fall mood board, too. Remember to take a look at all the freebies available on the SCT site. You might find something to help you jump start your project like the free wreath cut file. I can’t wait to see what you create!
