Hello SCT fans! I hope you’re enjoying the start of summer, and possibly some extra time to scrap! It’s Lisa Dickinson here today with a new page inspired by the spring issue and a new collection from Bella Blvd,  both which are perfect for a bright, happy summer page!

Supplies | Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Patterned paper, chipboard, epoxy stickers, enamel dots: Bella Blvd You Are My Sunshine Collection; Border punches: EK Success, Creative Memories, Fiskars; Adhesive: Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

I have several scallop border punches in my stash and despite the fact that most are 10+ years old, I still use these tools all the time on my pages! I was inspired to pull them out once again after seeing Paige Evan’s colorful layout on page 26 of the Spring Issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine:

I adore the layered borders forming a rainbow. You have to smile when you see this page!

I replicated the layered borders using three different border punches and many of the patterned papers from the Bella Blvd You Are My Sunshine collection (it’s so perfect for summer!) The punched borders are adhered slightly overlapping—it’s easiest to start at the bottom of the page and work your way up to the top. I also gently bent up a few of the edges to add some dimension.

Embellishing the rainbow background was easy with the stickers and chipboard from Bella Blvd that coordinates with the papers. Taking a cue from Paige’s layout, I added accents that matched the background to keep the rainbow-ordered look of the design.

With so many cute chipboard and tag options in this collection, it was easy to find a piece that worked as a title for my page. Combined with a chipboard sun and some puff stickers, my title came together in no time!

Are you ready to pull out your punches and create something colorful? We’d love to see how the latest issue inspires you! Happy scrapping!
