Hello SCT friends! It’s Erica here with you today sharing a 12 x 12-inch scrapbook layout using the Let’s Go collection from Simple Stories, inspired by a sketch and layout on page 29 of the Scrapbook & Cards Today Spring issue!

The pages of the spring issue are full of inspiration from front to back! It is great to pull out any one of the SCT issues and get so much inspiration to create with, including their PageMaps sketches! I love how Sarah Kee used the sketch and wanted to use the same sketch to inspire this layout! Here is the sketch I chose:

I did not follow the sketch exactly, but that is the nice thing about sketches! You can pick and choose the pieces you want to use on your page! I loved the horizontal design, so I decided to remove the vertical strip.

The horizontal design was my favorite part of the sketch so that is what I ran with to create my page! I started by trimming a piece of smooth white daisy cardstock from Close To My Heart to 11×11 and then matted it onto two different pattern papers from the Simple Stories Let’s Go collection.

I pulled out the Simple Stories Simple Pages pack and punched out this strip of pattern paper to adhere to the center! It already had two different patterns on it and worked perfectly as my large horizontal strip! The Simple Pages are great and come with instructions to create a page, but you can totally use the elements in this pack however you want!

My photos are of one of our summer adventures! We were all packed up in the car ready to go so I snapped a quick photo! I printed it out in black and white and formatted two photos onto one 4 x 6-inch photo. I used the PicFrame app to create this collage, and I love the photo sizes I can get! To change my photos from color to black and white I use an app called A Color Story! This is my all-time favorite app for editing photos on my phone!

To embellish my layout I used page pieces from the Simple Pages pack. I also pulled in some stickers and the beautiful brads! To bring in a different texture I added some pink thread and tucked it behind a couple of the die cuts!

I would love to see your take on this fabulous sketch from the Spring 2022 issue! Make sure to also take a look at how Sarah Kee used the sketch to inspire her layout!
