Hello SCT, friends! It’s Wendy Sue here today, and I’m excited to share a fun little holiday project with you! When I was a little girl, I loved looking at the beautiful 3-dimensional diorama-style ornaments on my grandma’s Christmas tree. They seemed so magical—like a holiday moment frozen in time, and it didn’t matter how long I looked at them, as I studied the layers, I always found something new. So when I received the assignment to create a Christmas ornament, I decided to try recreating some fun little holiday scenes inside paper box ornaments! Here’s the result:
Supplies | Echo Park Paper Santa Claus Lane collection: patterned paper, stickers, puffy stickers; Carta Bella Paper: cardstock
I used papers and stickers from Echo Park Paper’s Santa Claus Lane collection. I started by cutting a simple box shape with a round opening in the front using my Silhouette.
Then I cut four pieces of cardstock with the same size opening in the center and flaps in the ends to glue to the sides on the inside of the box.
I added stickers to each circle window before placing them inside the boxes—each one has a unique holiday scene inside!
Do you recall a special ornament from your childhood? I challenge you to try creating it and see how many fun memories it brings to mind! Happy Holidays!

This is AMAZING!! Is there a die or tutorial??
Amazing giveaways from Echo Park and Gina K. Designs! ???? I have always been a traditional red and green Christmas person but I am loving some of the new combinations especially with pink! Merry Christmas ???? SCT and all of your sponsors!
I like red and green for most Christmas creations. If I’m making religious card, I like blue and silver. Those paper ornaments today are terrific!
I like using Silver and Gold for Holiday crafting.
I also use the traditional Green and Red.
LOVE Gina K products and Echo Park, thanks for another wonderful giveaway!
Green and gold are my go to Christmas colours but recently have been experimenting with blue or pink and silver. I like a little sparkle on my cards. These ornaments are very cool! So many ideas, so little time!
I like the traditional red/green colour scheme but the pretty icy blues sure add a wintery feel to any decore.
I love the creativity of your ornaments. They are beautiful! Thanks for the inspiration.
I’m a traditional red and green girl…I also love throwing in browns here and there…a nod to branches and burlap with the greenery.
I love the traditional colors but also enjoy the blue and silver combos for a little change.
What a great giveaway! Yes, traditional red and green!
I love the blue/white/silver color combination!
Loving the project share today. I’m a bit of both. I do love the traditional colours. I have one tree in our home showcasing the traditional. I also have another tree showcasing the modern twist of pinks and mint greens. They are all so fun! Merry Christmas!
I love adding some pink and blue. As many colored lights on tree as I can put. I am merry and BRIGHT.
These mini scene ornaments are filled with fun eye candy, such a sweet holiday project. Red is my least favourite colour so I tend to use non-traditional palettes such as teal, pink, blue and purple on holiday/winter projects. Thank you for the chance to win these fab goodies!
Your diorama ornaments are fabulous! What a great gift they would be! Love that you can make them with all kinds of different scenes. I would be all about the red and green since I love the traditional colors, along with some added gold sparkle.
I love using traditional colours but sometimes throw some pinks and purples in for fun.
Love red and green. I am a traditionalist. Love Echo Park and Gina K. Lovely prizes!
I tend to go for traditional reds and greens! Thanks for a chance to win!
Thank you for the opportunity to win these prizes! I am more of a traditional Christmas person! I love the red and greens and all of the colored lights on our Christmas tree.
Wow – this is darling! I made mini albums for each of my kids of the ornaments they were given over the years. I passed that along with the ornaments to them when they got married. I tend to be more of a traditional Christmas color person with reds and greens. That being said, I did buy new ornaments for our tree that are black and white check:) Thank you Echo Park and Gina K Designs for the amazing gifts! Thank you SCT for the inspiration and wonderful 12 days!
Adorable ornaments! I tend towards traditional red and green, but enjoy trying out new colour combinations.
Totally a traditional red and green fan!
I am not a traditional red and green person. I prefer silver/blue, or opalescent/gold type of combos. Thank you SCT for the chance to win.
The diorama ornaments are soooo cute!
Traditional red and green, with a touch of gold, is my favourite Christmas combination. I also lean towards pink and gold at times. Oh…and kraft! It works with everything!
Echo Park and Gina K? WOW! So generous!

Such a great idea! I do gravitate tored and green when crafting for the holidays but I also like to mix it up as well, love a retro colour palette with pinks and greens and a softer palette with pale blue and red
Each year I choose a different color palette. One year was even black and whit!
So cute! What a generous giveaway.
Such cute ornaments.
I love traditional green and red with a touch of gold added in.
I keep coming back to red/green/gold.
These ornements are adorable Wendy Sue!
Im pretty traditional but I have to admit that Im liking the pale pink and blue we are starting to see!
awesome giveaways and project:)
Favorite color scheme is definitely traditional :)
I’m a YES! I love BOTH traditional and non-traditional Christmas time lover! I tend to reach for the non-traditional first (love pinks and golds and blues and silvers), but do have a place in my heart and my crafting for both!
My favourite holiday colour scheme has a more modern twist – pinks and turquoise. So fun!!
Red and green all the way.
I am usually a traditionalist when it comes to Christmas colors – and that is certainly the “tone” when I decorate my home – I gravitate towards traditional, antique farmhouse pieces. However, I did decide to step outside my box when making cards and gifts this year. I mixed light blue, mint green, pale pink and white with lots of silver and clear sparkles. I am pleased with the fresh, whimsical results that I got. It’s really un to be part of a community like this one where I get so much inspiration from the talented artists you showcase. Thank you to SCT, the designers and friends that show up here on a regular basis!
I’m a tradionalist of red/green, but The Grinch gets thrown in as well.
I love your diorama ornaments, no way I could make them.
I like teal blue and silver. Thanks for the great giveaways!!
I used to be traditional but loving the blue and white lately.
Beautiful ornaments! I tend to like the more traditional Christmas colors but love to add blues, silvers and golds colors. Thanks for the opportunity to win these generous prizes.
Really cute ornaments. This year I seem to be into all the colors – generally I go with red and green or blue and silver.
I love using the traditional red and green and I also like using silver and gold too on my cards! I love Gina K Design and Echo Park products! Thank you for another wonderful giveaway!
What a cute project! My favorite holiday color scheme is probably red and green with some black thrown in for good measure.
I am not a traditionalist so red and green really aren’t my thing. I like white and gold or blue and silver or just all the colors!!
OMG!!! What an awesome day this is, This Echo Park collection would make any crafter drool and to think you also get $100.00 to spend at Gina K. than would take all of 5 minutes. Awesome Awesome Awesome, I am feeling like a kid again and as so excited for all the prizes. Thank you SCT and Wendy your box decoration is absolutely beautiful Nice job!!
I’m definitely a traditional red/green Christmas lover! Reminds me of my childhood!
I mostly use red and green, but I do like a little blue and pink sometimes too.
I do love the traditional red green Christmas colors – but lately have had the tendency to go the to blue and mint green and pink paper packs for Christmas the last few years as well.
These are gorgeous. I’m finding that I’m loving to use these stickers that come with the kits more and more. They can really add to a project. My favorite color scheme is blue/silver/grey/white. I find it so soothing and classic. Just perfect for winter! Thanks for the chance to win.
